I'm sure its already been talked about but i recently got back into CoH and EiR and playing of I have a few things to say...
I just got finished playing Of and you know what. Fuck the king tiger, really. I mean I attacked one with 6 Cromwells 1 Sherman firefly and a command tank that was giving its bonuses to the other tanks. And guess what won... The king tiger... It one hitted my Sherman front armor... Every time i tried to send tanks around the flanks it just one hitted them. Plus all my tanks were ultra repaired with engineers special super repair thing. And i was slaughtered. Maybe I'm going crazy but i wanted to pull my hair out. someone tell me what went wrong.
Secondly, the Cromwell tank. When it comes to tank on tank combat the Cromwell cant hold up at all to a regular Tiger or even a hetzler. It can only solo kill a Panzer IV. But the Cromwell was made to be smaller profile than the Sherman so its easier to camouflaged, secondly it was supposed to be better than the Sherman. There Are stories in Normandy that in Inner City combat a Cromwell would hide and one hit a tiger (Not a King tiger or Tiger Ace) but they would hit it in the Tiger's side armor and one shot it. You cant 5 shot a tiger in the rear armor and kill it with a Cromwell. Plz, plz I'm begging you, tell me if I'm crazy or is there someone else out there that agrees with me.  Angry

I've beaten a king tiger with 2 bren squads and a piat team.   I've also beaten one with 4 upped tetrachs.

You do realize the KT in the singleplayer campaign is uberbuffed to one shot kills right? Wink

Its powerful but not over the top in multi-play

Button is the most unrealistic and stupid ability I have ever seen in a game. Furthermore, if a Bren gun can button a tank, then a 30 cal or an MG-42 should be able to button it much longer and much more effectively.

The Bren Gun was amazingly accurate for a light machine gun, where as the .30 cal and mg42 were not.

This would allow the user to pinpoint an area on a vehicle like the vision slits and driving motors and damage them to the point that the vehicles crew cannot move very quickly, i may even rely on putting bullets in select areas of the tracks where enough will cause it to sieze until the firing is stopped..

It was in single player. That would explain alot... But any thoughts about the Cromwell's?

You realize that if they made this game realistic, that most tanks at this point would be one shotted by any AT weapon right? PAK40 vs Allied medium armor = no more tank, Panzershrek and Faust vs tank = no more tank, Medium German tank vs Medium allied tank = whoever shot and hit first, and so on.

...And there would be 14 Shermans to every Tiger, Tigers would break down every three games, and every Sherman would fire WP shells, free of charge. And each Allied division would have Bombing Run and Strafing Run...Tanks would have ranges of 600+meters, and Infantrymen would be hard-pressed to close with tanks.

Seriously, NO REALISM ARGUMENTS IN A VIDEO GAME. THERE COULD BE PINK UNICORNS, AND IT WOULD STILL BE AS REALISTIC AS IT IS RIGHT NOW.

Caps lock obnoxiousness over.

Skunker, Bren Buttons aren't the most unrealistic things in game. That dubious award goes to tactical, laser-guided V1s.

How else here thinks that button up is even better vs tanks than sticky´s?

Actually, the buttoning tanks ability wasn't just made up, there's a historical correct background to it.
But yes obviously, the frequency it occurs in OF is absurd, but who cares Smiley.

Buttoning isn't better than sticky, a sticky can damage the engine or immobilise the vehicle where as buttoning only slows the vehicle down for a medium amount of time. On top of that, stickies also do more damage.

It's like suppresion, you can still move the unit but it's a lot harder to succeed in doing so.

Note though that if you get buttoned around max range, it's not too hard to escape.
In other words, try to stay on a maximum range from Bren squads and you'll be fine Wink.

Yeah just think of it as Tank Supression. But yeah If it stays buttoned too long, you lose LOS and cant fire.
