If you "Saved as" then you should probably check the documents in the folder you saved it in. Might have ended up in a different document.

Use a real Office Programm like Microsoft Office/LaTex and not Windows Word. The basic word of windows is just toy.
(For all the haters against Microsoft - Yesterday I created a specification sheet and it got nearly complety restored after a system crash)

PC has a very, very fucked up central registry (hence my bluescreening out of eir matches all the time). I'm getting this P O S rebuilt in a week, but I should have seen something like this happening.
