Sorry but that's just plain stupid, with that kind of carebear mentality you are essentially giving everyone easy and uncontested access to vet 3 units. It's definitely a good way to undermine THE foundation of the modification (persistency) Anyway, it's not my business what they do at OMG, but I wholeheartedly support the concept of vethunting here at EIR. It's a part of the deal, you shouldn't play a persistent mod if you can't handle losing big units.

It'd be no different than someone playing Day Z and expecting not to get shot when he has the best gear in the game. Sure it sucks getting killed, but imagine what a dull game it would be if there wasn't that risk involved.

The simple way that veterancy works is that your either good enough to keep it or it dies.

Shit, even if you aren't that good it isn't hard to vet whore if you just be aware.

People getting in a fluster over losing vet units has always, and will always confuse the shit out of me. If your so scared of losing it, why the hell did you get it in the first place? A vet 3 Pershing used to carebear standards is worth about as much as a 75mm Sherman at vet 0.

Yeah, your vet has halved your efficiency instead of practically doubling it like it should.

If its about to die and is being chased, then chances are you will kill it anyway. There is no hold fire button on M10s, and you are not expected to hold fire your ATGs, so if its anywhere near your forces at the time, its fair game. And if he flaunts it off and doesn't retreat it ASAP, its also fair game due to him lieing about his retreat.

Now if its behind the front lines and has like half health and he concedes his entire army, then yeah your supposed to let it live.

But that would label you as a pussy to all of OMG. And don't think just because OMG lets pussies retreat that the majority of OMG are pussies.

I have played probably 50 to 80 OMG games in my time, and I have never ever seen someone try to retreat to save a vet 3 unit. Matter of fact I can only recall retreats being called when a player on their team has dropped.

I had someone seriously flaming me at one point in time for killing his vet 4 sherman 105. It had a blown engine and i chased it down, so what?

Also, another game where my 2 teammates were annihilated and i chased a stuck KT with 3 AT guns across abbeville and finally killed it after 5 minutes....lots of flak for that :/

There was no stealing of concepts - EIR was dead in the water, so what else were the players who loved playing it meant to do?

They recreated it, hell thats what *I* was doing for my friends at a LAN party, when Tym suggested I approch fldash with the launcher concept.
