Played Hitman at gamescom yesterday. Was pretty cool, although i played it on Xbox, and i never played xbox in my life before, so controls sucked and I died alot.

Well its out, I think im about half way through the game.
The game itself is not too bad but it is quite a bit of a change to the old hitman games. Half of the levels dont include much freedom and are quite linear. And the levels that do provide freedom arn't exactly anywhere near the size of the levels in the old hitmans. The shooting part of the game isn't too bad. And the stealth mechanics just don't really feel right. I can't comment on the story, because I havn't beat the game yet. The contracts mode so far seems a bit bland, but thats probaly because noone has created some good hits yet. It also sort of sucks that there is no loadout screen or any type of customization you can do for the campaign mode.
Anyways, the game doesn't really feel like hitman. I don't think I will be replaying any of the story missions.

I agree, some missions are too linear. But the rest of your concerns are bs.

I also forgot to say how terrible the saving system is, and that they cut all of the levels into pieces, where sometimes you have literary 2 rooms in a area, where you can go guns blazing, then walk through a red door and people say "Good day to see a fellow officer in uniform!"

wow thats horrible horrible news. im a big fan of the series. But only enjoyed about half the levels anyways. The super secret spy levels were just so...distracting from being a hitman. The triad ones in the first one was awesome and of course in blood money "new life".
guess good news is, is that its one less game im going to want
off to get halo 4...gawddd thats not that good either.
Shame to see developers are getting worse over the years.

I'm a little disappointed with this title to be honest, feels nothing like the old hitmans. Most of the missions you spent the majority of your time evading or escaping enemies, rather than preparing and planning out the right hits. Most of the hits are incredibly easy on top of that, not to mention the disguise system is total balls. (Which is a major reason why you spend so much time just evading)
The checkpoint system is an atrocity, I thought game developers by know knew this is not done for a PC title. (Then again, it's pretty obvious the game was developer primarily for consoles) Good luck trying to play on harder difficulty settings, remaining unspotted, without getting frustrated several attempts down the line.

Not all missions are escaping, there are some good old fashioned ones. They should look into making DLC missions though, because atm those maps are the only ones worth replaying in contracts mode.
The disguise system is better imo, it's just more challenging because you have to swap disguises more often to get past certain areas.
Also what do you mean that the chapter system is an atrocity?

There aren't any checkpoints on purist difficulty and there is no reason to play on any other difficulty unless you plan to play it like a shot em up.

Lol, you must be kidding. Playing hitman levels on the hardest settings without any possibility to save whatsoever must be about the most frustrating experience ever. There's always some mistakes that will be made with this shitty instinct system, unless you run through the levels like a freaking snail. (In which case I suppose I understand you don't share the sentiment that the small level design completely breaks the hitman experience)

It's a learning experience, once you've developed some silent killing and sneaking techniques, it's a piece of cake. The only mission that I found frustrating was the library mission but after switching paths I found that it's actually quite easy. You don't have to move like a snail but the game does require patience, you can't just sprint around, you have to stay hidden for a few seconds to observe your surroundings.

Unless you're fine with murdering innocents and you don't want to get silent assassin then purist is pretty damn hard.

I would also like to add I watch fox news everyday all day and will continue to watch it while being proud of that fact. I'm sure you enjoy your communist news network just as much.

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.
