Look, you cannot account any side stuff like books for how good the main games story is, while interesting to some degree the story of the halo games is nothing special.

borderlands could be considered shallow, what are your justifications for calling borderlands 2 shallow?

just curious

The problem with making a halo movie is the problem faced by a lot of game to movie transitions.
Condensing so much fluff and cannon into a feature length film whilst also staying true to the game and still being interesting.

Well, once you get past the whole "GUNS&PUNS" thing the gameplay is pretty bare bones I think, The weapon handling never felt all that good to me either. It's a fun coop game but play it alone and you'll see what I mean, well, if you're anything like me anyway. Speaking of weapons while there are a lot of combinations they just never felt all that different in the end, or rather, there were so many useless weapons and only a few properly good combinations.

Funny thing is that I'm a sucker for stat heavy rpgs and more stats (<<<<< rgd's) but borderlands never really clicked for me.

Well the Halo Anime did well, and so did the feature length live action film. Also. A Halo movie would do well so long as it wasn't following one of the games (cos people already know those stories). It would be great to make a film which took place in between 1 and 2, or before 1/ way before 1.
So your saying a movie about halo odst ?
Or a movie about halo wars ? And contact harvest?

Because prior to this humanity was unawares of the covenant and their intentions.
Which would make for a poor film due to most fanboys not knowing about the insurrection and the inner outer colony struggle.

They'd be like " duh where's dem letes wif dere nrg sord " .

fair enough

i played bl1 mostly coop with my brother and bl2 twice through on ps3 with 3 others and once on pc with my brother so solo didnt happen but when it did I had fun but it definitely loses some appeal ill give ya that

as for the gun combinations, i just think you're wrong. obviously it depends on your character/tree or if you want to use the most OP as fuck combo but if you're an 'average' player which i assume your not due to your mention of heavy rpg then i can see why it isnt for you.

i personally can't wait for the new psycho krieg. gearbox has yet to let me down with borderlands (never played Aliens remake or Duke, i like my gaming memories of original duke nukem).

i guess what it comes down to is borderlands tries to be a 'stat heavy rpg' in some areas which it obviously is not. i'm ok with that Wink

Haha, yeah... I'll look at the guns and go...

"This gun is a shotgun that fires rockets, cool!" > "Man, the damage is kind of low for rockets and the spread is horrible..."
"This gun shoots multiple blobs of goo at once!" > "To bad only 1 shot per salvo will hit, at best, if you're lucky..."
"Holy shit this needle pistolgunthingy fires hella fast AND is accurate!" > "Well, to bad the damage is shit and it ate all my ammo in 3 bursts..."

"Hell yeah, fire as fast as I can hit the trigger combat rifle does good damage, is accurate and has no issues! Best gun in my inventory!" > "To bad it's a standard ass combat rifle..."

Something like that, lol

Trying to argue that a game has a good story just because a spinoff movie/book/whatever has a good story is kinda dumb.

With that logic the board game battleship has a story.

And yet Niko still tries to defend the super shallow X-com wrapped in a pretty package.

Considering I never got around to playing the original XCOM, I'm rather enjoying EU. Playing it on Impossible Ironman and it's one of the few recent SP games that'll actually give me a challenge.

A:CM and DNF are downright horrible games though, and only have any life in them due to their existing franchises.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.
