10:05am: The 2nd Armoured Brigade and the 17th Airborne Division set up hasty defences as reports arrive that an Axis attack is inbound.
10:15am: The 17th Infantry and 5th Panzer divisions arrive in the area and break the defensive line by pushing the Allies' flank.
10:20am: The British forces quickly shift their front to support the American paratroopers and managed to momentarily push the Axis forces out of the town.
10:45am: Upon the arrival of heavy armour from the Panzer division the the Allies foothold upon the town is put under jeopardy and requests are made for armoured support. Little of this town will remain standing when the fighting subsides.
