Hey All,

I just got Company of Heroes today, and I've already spent far more time than I can afford to playing it.  Anyway, I was excited enough about this project you guys have going here to register a couple days *before* I even got the game!

Anyway, I just wanted to check, does the mod make it so that I can't play the normal game, and thus, I'll need to have two copies installed?  Or does it let me go either way?

Once I finish the campaign, and have a few MP games under my belt, I'll probably start dicking around with the map editor, and might even contribute.

Thanks

No, you get a new .exe for EiR so you can play EiR by running the EiR launcher and CoH by running the CoH.exe.

Welcome aboard, be sure to read the ultimate guide and don't hesitate to drop by on the "chat" (top of page) or on ventrillo for any more questions.

Yeah, basically you just put the EiR loader .exe in your CoH directory then run it to play EiR and just the normal CoH.exe to play vanilla CoH. Smiley

lo ppl i'm also new here and i was trying to create my unit but i haven't found anywhere which doctrine means what, i was going for blitzkrieg but i can't buy tigers so can soeone explain pls so that i don't have to create and delete 5 divisions in order to get what does each doctrine power do.

and one more thing how are my troops affected by losses on the battlefield, i'd like to play few practice combats before getting in real combats, and i'm wondering where can i find someone to play some "unranked" practice match cause.

That explaines the doctrines, depending on if you want Tiger or Tiger ace you need to go Blitz or Terror.  Look through them, as they are pretty different than vanilla CoH.

As far as your losses on the battlefield, currently when you play a game no matter how many units you lose on the field, the next time you play a game you have the entire company back again.  Currently no games are ranked or counted, this is still alpha release and most of it is still in testing, for balance issues and bug finding.

The best way to find games is to get into the IRC channel or get on to Team Speak and just ask if someone is up for a match.

tnx m8 this helps a lot, altrough i have one more question as axis i cant choos none of command options from third branch so i can't see tenacity, blitz tactics and i don't know the name of third branch in defense so i was wondering if that is because i have a low rank or it's just under constriction

sry i am one irritating n00b

You have 45 cps to start with... If you select all of the first branch, you won't be able to select much of the second.  You could select all of the second, and only a few of the first.  Is this what you are talking about?

i completeley understand this command points and stuff Cheesy i've played strategies before but what i was thinking about was i see in a doc3ne list for defensive e.g. three branches  inteligence, bombardment and tenacity but when i choose defensive in create a division i see only two command branches(i can't see tenacity), that is what my previous question was about

Oh, I apologize.  None of the third branches have been implemented.  They will be done in the next release.  Sorry about that.
