Only reason i did it that game was because he had an 88.
See what I do is I have two different starting companies for m y howitzer. One is if i need to hang back and defend it in order to free up my partner either on offense of defense because if they've got the area pretty well defended, i need my howitzer to free them up and that takes a while.
On the other hand is your idea so I have another. So I can either do this.
Howie 9 + engie (mgun) 5 + rifle 5 + hmg 3 + jeep 3
or
howie 9 + mgun 5 + 2 rifle 10 + jeep 3
or if i dont want howitzer at all i got with out it and use the 3 rifles and hmg to start off with.
and it works out either way but the fact is i have the howie and engie in a separate block and the other stuff elsewhere. it just depends on situation.
I honestly would never use an mgnest when attacking. NEVER. I would rather have an hmg due to its mobility. Rifles are not that great either since they get supressed so fast. The second u see an HMG they hit the floor. Use something that can remove HMG's easy, and break through the lines. When im on offensive, i use a croc the majority of time. Its the perfect weapon to remove an HMG from a building, and it gives u just enough time to put your own in it. I find it the only way allies can enter, unless they want to do a Mortar stand off...
Snipers work well but it rarely gives u enough time at the very start to remove a whole hmg squad, since the players are paying attention everywhere. Howi's do an ok job at removing building but u cant target the building. I found that if you target JUST behind it, the majority of hits damage the roof, and squads get gimped after that. The building has to be tall enough tho.
Other forms to break through the lines are clowncars... satchels... or ranger nades.
