The accelerator cannot create a new universe, it is not powerful enough to distort the universe outside of a human comprehension. Bodybag, the 'Big bang' theory was not an explosion in the universe, it was an expansion of time and space, matter before this time could have been one large brick or anything as it is too far from our comprehension or our ability to theorise.

The simple objective of the LHC is to give Europe a more able/larger scaled particle accelerator, gravity and its comparison to the other forces was one of the main objectives that my local MP (Member of Parliament, for those outside the UK) told our constituency when he was making the case for why we should pay for it.

I am happy we have it and don't fear any tests as it cannot effect this universe or the planet other than for good.

Well i think that the Mayans predictions based on their astronomy were never wrong :p so i wouldnt be suprised if something big happens like a comet falling or whatever.
They describe this age as the one that we are meeting ourselves again. Meeting ourselves through destruction perhaps ?:p
