Graphics Error

On Saturday night, after a CoH game, I went on CSS for a bit. After about a minute in, the game froze up and then 20 seconds later it successfully recovers. I tried restarting my computer and the same results occured. I installed new drivers which only made things worst as the computer started blanking out without any recovery. So I system restored and now it's back to square 1. Every minute or so, my screen would blank out and then recover even as I'm typing this up.

I also appear to be having trouble rendering certain shades as they appear purple.

sounds like a graphics card issue, are you using the latest drivers for your card? I'd suggest re-downloading them (and if you were using beta drivers, go to the latest stable) - your drivers may have partially corrupted

Otherwise it could be a fuckup with your hardware, cable going out on you.... try swapping out as many components as you can (monitor cable, internal connectors, etc) without touching your actual hardware - should help you isolate the problem

I've isolated it to the graphics card. At the moment, I'm running with onboard graphics. I'll try downloading the most stable drivers I can and go on from there.

I've installed the new drivers and this is what I'm getting on Device Manager.

"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

Can't seem to get the card running anymore.

No, one year warranty has passed. Worst part is, the company started issuing out lifetime warranty early 2008. Gah, this sucks. Angry

Sounds like the shit I went through a few months ago. What kind of card is it. Sounds like your best bet is to just get a new one HOWEVER. Run mem checks and other things to make sure it's the gfx card and not something else.

It's a Nvidia 8800 GTS.

I already ran a mem check. The memory is fine. It's not the monitor either because it's been fine when I'm running my onboard graphics.
