ok, i have played here probably about 20 games or so, never had a issues, last night 2 games in a row i kept getting bad lag.. settings too high message.. i tried turning down some video and sound settings but that didnt help.

1.  does anyone have any info on what the best settings are for in game?

2.  i have a p4 3.2ghz, 1.5gb ram, geforce6800ultra 64mb ram - its a bit old but had no issues running before.  roadrunner cable internet.

3.  i rebooted my pc and modem, but didnt have anymore games to try, so will see tonight, but any other things to look for?

Couple of ideas...

Download this http://www.defraggler.com and run it on all your drives.

Download this http://www.ccleaner.com and run it to clean up your system.

Were you playing in games with more players than normal?  When was the last time you rebooted your computer?  Many times rebooting will fix slow down issues if things had been running fine before.  There's a chance you just had some memory that wasn't freed by an application when it closed.

http://www.docsdownloads.com/Tier1/enditall.htm

Useful too, I use it before I play a game, closes down all unneeded applications that are hidden on the background.
You can also set it to exclude from closing down certain programs (like vent), etc.

Also works great for vista.

Aside from that, you could also consider overclocking your 6800 a tad. (Your 64 MB is killing it though, you really need 512 these days) But you're better off just getting a new GFX card in the long run, you can get some really cheap ones with great performance. You could also buy another 512 ram cheap.

With these purchases your computer would be as good as new Tongue.

Also, did it happen on a specific map? Some maps are more resource intensive than others.
