give the 88 crew some armor against mortar shells, as 1 mortar shell can take out a full health crew. that doesnt even happen to at's, howizters etc. than yea costing PP would prolly balance it.

err vet flak88s are not effected by mortars at all rofl, i've sat behind a hedge at close range barraging the flak88 and nothing happens to it

Depends on if it hits or not. The gunshield gives green cover, so if the hit lands on the wrong side of the gunshield the crew is basically unharmed, I think.

Or do mortars ignore cover bonuses... I can't remember.

if it lands behind the gun shield on the crew the whole crew dies, vet does not stop this. Ive see it, 3 times it has happened to my vet 3 88.

I'm fairly certain 88's cover is omni-directional.

Mortar ignores cover, so it doesnt matter at all.

And the 88 crew cover is omnidirectional.
