I knew someone would compare adding new units to OMG, when you whined about how allies are not appealing and whinnnnned for new units.

Yep, but that doesn't mean that every unit should be in a game just because it can.

Do Americans need a breakthrough tank? Why not adjust the Croc price to be more useful? Why get the Croc when you have a unit that absorbs hits, and will still kill infantry just fine?

Its like the Churchill mk IV, its so bad there is no reason to buy it, at one point I took Armor reinforcements to get Shermans instead because they were so much better.

The mk VI is usable and at least useful in the infantry support role.

So instead of vehicles and units being replaced by better variants, we should also be looking at fixing what is in game, and not being used. Fix the Croc, make it usable as a breakthrough vehicle or at least semi-disposable, hell, maybe add another availability to it and give it 35 range in the AB Doctrine since its apparently AB focused looking at the reinforcement packages.

Ummm...Marders, Gerschutz, m18 and t17 were all real....and quite effective units.

yep, but modeled wrong in game.. and what exactly is the geshitzwagon supposed to be? thats a generic name for something.. t17 didnt have a quick fireing 37mm.. the m18 is all screwed up, mardar has a way over performing gun etc.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

M4 Sherman
search for jumbo
Quote
The (rare) M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo variant had even thicker frontal armor than the Tiger I.

 Cool
The setting that EIR:R has, is as if the war had continued past its historical point, and into 'What if' land.  Thats why you see pershings and other late war vehicles (I think pershing is one...)

So, the Jumbo while rare historically, may not be so in EIRR.

Also *cough* KT.  Wink

Correct.

And thats what we aim for.
The Jumbo *experiment* is interesting, as you wont see it normally.

Relic has a bunch of units that historically were extremely rare or didnt even exist.

Bergetiger didn't exist, there was only ever one made and it didn't actually work.

There was only like 50 ostwinds and wirblewinds ever made.

Only a couple hundred FG42s ever made.

Compared to those the sherman jumbo is plentiful.

Wait, how is the 7.5cm PAK40 over performing? That thing could pop any allied armor at 1000+ meters. The m18 is screwed up yes. The Geschutzwagon is a generic name, but that version of a field modified self propelled gun did exist, it also mounted the PAK 40 7.5cm gun.

If anything, those two units in a realistic setting would be far more terrifying than a P4.

...Any armor? I'm pretty sure that the Sherman Jumbo and some Churchill variants could eat 88mm rounds, let alone KwK40 rounds without too many problems. That's what the Sherman Jumbo was used for during road marches, to take the first few AT shells so the rest of the armored column could react.

Only the tungsten rounds for the 75mm could penetrate those...luckily, Germany was pretty much out of tungsten by 1944 for tank shells.

maybe you just suck now cuz you're more interested in keeping your vet than actually winning?

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Then you should make an allies account and try to see what strategies other people use to beat axis, and adapt to those strategies.

same stuff as ivH or stug... they may be different guns, but their penetration was basically identical.. so why the stug and iv get 87.5 base and the mardar gets 150 and geshits got 250 inital beats me...

or how the upgun sherman is still junk, when it should have matching numbers with m10, or a properly modelled 76mm1 used on the m18..

but, thats just relic, no consistency in the models they create.

Wow can't believe people use time to fight NEW CONTENT.. I mean how retarded is it to fight new content.. The developers are not robots who ceaselessily work toward improving whatever the community cries for each time the wind changes directions or follow schedule blindly.. It should be received as overwhelmingly positive if community discussion or ideas has spurred new directions or concepts in EIRR development.

I should dig up some of AMPM's squirming posts about how bored he is with vcoh factions or pre-reinforcements EIR type of units/gameplay.. and then we combine this with his tornado of tears against proposed new content to make the ultimate anti-logic bomb, fzzzzBOOM!

i do have an allied account, and its 100% easier to play then axis. just put a hmg here, atg here, then put a bren with some sappers and ur all set against anything the PE can throw at u. and im sorry if i sound spiteful, hey updates have to start somewhere, its gonna be unbalanced if new units, improvments are added with some factions then later on completed other faction, but its just ive always doubted Americans first to update, compared to what PE can field. but hey i have to deal with it right.
