How have this change worked out aka the removal of double lmg squads? Discuss.

I personally didn't have a issue with double LMG grenadiers, they didn't counter tanks or light vehicles, you couldn't use them very well offensively, they struggled against infantry in buildings, snipers posed a big threat to them. Now I feel wehrmacht is forced into KCH/Flamers and uncharacteristic close range slugging to go inf on inf against commandos, rangers etc. LMG's were rape when used correctly, but looking at the vacuum they left behind them I really miss them. They countered flame engineers really well and airborne couldnt mess with them (like airborne can with single lmg grenadiers). After all you paid 150 munitions for double lmgs! Few patches back commandos were 135 munitions.

Right now a BAR upgrade just feels so infinitely better and more useful than a single LMG, it's hard to justifiy using lmgs on grenadiers. It also affects your ability to field smart low pop counters as wehr.

Anyone else have opinions on how this change has worked out?

I liked dual LMGs, but perhaps make the second LMG more expensive like the second schrek was?

We are serious about enforcing this, and I am sure you all want to be able to have your balance thought considered by the development team with some biased, sensationalist coming into your thread and ruining it.

Wher already has more pop efficient alternatives anyway.  The fact is in a wher army you can easily sneak 25% of your total munitions into your starting callin and make it very, very, good in terms of countering others.  a double LMG squad as a defensive weapon is unstoppable, pretty much a HMG with the suppression values on it too.

The fact is Grenadiers aren't heroic doctrine specific units.  to have 1 LMG is as balanced as standard infantry when compared to BAR rifles (which are only good when they can supress), Bren Tommy Infantry Squads, and Assault Grens.  2 LMGs makes the squad much closer to Commandos or Rangers or Falls in terms of AI power.

Wher at least have a choice, imagine US when all you can get is BAR rifles as your best infantry (especially in armour company).  Its not so bad after all.

5 pop (i think) KCH will counter pretty much all pro infantry.  Theres your solution

Ahem, I believe you are mistaken in quite a few of your points.

- Would you say bars only being good when they supress is a bigger or smaller disadvantage than "lmgs are only good when the other guy attacks you, and you are not moving"?
- Nobody is prohibited from getting falls/commandos/ab/rangers, they come in reinforcement packages. So this armor weakness really isn't noticable anymore once you max out your company.
- KCH wont counter commandos, they will lose to rangers out of the box. So this is wrong.

A single lmg is pitiful compared to the bar upgrade.

You get one per squad.... depending on who get's the jump, you're gonna win against rifles, especially if you're in a building.

Why would you have a 1v1 type engagements anyway, it's all about combined arms.
LMG's are fine as they are, basic infantry, basic upgrade, keeps them inline with other infantry.
