can't upgrade units after a battle..

Well my unit is -565 manpower, which aint to bad after a fight (have been -2000 LOL) anyways, the fact is winning the attacking version of the game gives you bonus resources, which I believe are awarded instantly apon winning.


I go to check my company and decide i wanted to use the new ammo and fuel on upgrading a sherman, but when I click the submit button it says i am -565 manpower and can not finish the transaction.

is there anyway to remove manpower from the upgrade selection so we can do mid-day upgrades  between battles.  It is completely impossible to keep your manpower in the positive unless you float a few thousand manpower for some odd reason.
