Alrighty... I'll just let it all out now  Grin

About a week ago I downloaded a few mods, only 1 of them worked... RC_Realism. It was really great.

I edited the RC Realism module to better suit me, and did something wrong, the mod wouldn't work anymore. So I reinstalled the original RC Realism mod, and it still wouldn't work.

Then I reinstalled CoH, and RC Realism, again... it still wouldn't work. (I have no idea why it worked the first time, but not the second time.)

Once more I reinstalled CoH and found myself a cool new mod... EiR.

So I installed EiR, used the launcher, made myself a battalion or whatever... I didn't get to the stage of actually playing CoH, because I was going to do that later.

So! Everything was fine. But I decided to play ordinary CoH with no mods, just for a few minutes, to pass the time.

Oh no! It won't load! Shocked

I got the old "RelicCoH.exe has stopped working" rubbish.

I went into the CoH directory and used the RelicCoH.exe in there, instead. It said there was a missing "divixmediadib.dll"... so I downloaded the correct dll (I found one on google) and tried again. Now it doesn't give me the "missing .dll" error, it just doesn't launch at all.

Now I'm stuck... Huh

By the way, I'm using Vista.32 and Steam (A terrible combination to have, I know)  Grin

Delete everything thats left from the RC_Realism mod would be my guess, if nothing helps another reinstall is needed.

Something bigger is wrong in you COH files in steam.  I had that problem a couple days ago.

Where it won't launch, but it dosn't say theres something wrong.

I had to delete all the local files and reinstall it through steam.  Then reinstall teh mods and it shou;d work again.

Thanks guys.

I have a system worked out now, where I copy all the original CoH files into a backup folder, incase I ever need to re-install it again.

It saves me alot of time, instead of me re-downloading it from Steam.

EDIT: Wow this is crazy... I reinstalled CoH, and I did not install any mods. Yet CoH still wont launch. It has the "RelicCoH.exe has encountered a problem" message, again.

Well I have to say this is the most fun I've had in my life  Tongue

Again I tried the RelicCoH.exe in my steam folder, and it said that a .dll is missing... but get this, it's a different one from the previous problem.

So I download the required .dll and put it where it belongs. Now it says "STLport.5.1.dll is corrupted, re-download it".

It seems to be an endless cycle of installing, downloading, deleting, and then re-installing. =]

You might actualy want to go through the trouble of re-downloading all the files from steam again.

Also check your Direct X installations to make sure they are up to date.  Something might have gone corrupt as sopmetimes happens.

I don't think I'll try to install any mods.
