a vet 3 axis mortar will kill any allied inf with the 1st or second shell.
a vet 3 allied mortar will kill any inf with the 3rd or 4th shell

i was under the impression that to compensate for fail range the allied mortar did more damage. Maybe its a bug.
Also the axis mortar gets a vet 3 range boost so this data is incorrect.


Allied mortar:

Manpower     350
Ammunition    50
Vet 1    Received Accuracy 0.8
Vet 2    Accuracy 1.15, Reload 0.8
Vet 3    Health 1.1, Cover Ability*, Range +10

axis mortar:

Manpower     480
Ammunition    65

lol... Allied Motar is fine, just have to micro it more imho... Axis is deadly thou.. everytime i get a chance to steal one i will.

Honestly it's that uber allied reload that scares me. I have come close to losing my vet 3 mortar many times because one allied mortar is firing again before its first round lands. I am constantly relocating, because I wouldn't survive long enough to get my rounds off to counter it.

I think the simplest summary of the CoH paradigm is this:

"Balance is inversely related to the amount of difference between each faction, doctrine, and unit."

Essentially, chess has zero, CoH has 943,349,349,213,394,394,003,239.

darrg borked does not mean off balance
its more along the lines of bugged.

-_- the bug is that axis mortar vet 3 give range bonus and damage bonus but allied only give range bonus. that means axis vet description is wrong and axis vet 3 is out of sync.

Honestly I won't pretend to be an expert on how wind up and wind down works, but I don't think you can just add all of those numbers together. Someone who is an expert can correct me, but if they were simply added up, there would be no reason to have seven stats would there?

Fire aim time I think is irrelevant for the barrage ability, which is what everyone uses, and cooldown might be as well. Hence why the barrage ability shoots significantly faster than the mortar free-firing. At the very least I'm pretty sure some factors there are irrelevant when it comes to using the barrage ability.

wow, rec acc at vet 3 for allied mortar that kinda sucks...unless it helps in fending off counter barrages.

BTW, i'm so much better with allied mortar than i am axis mortars, well the wehr one at least. I"ve already got one vet 3 allied mortar and am working on a 2nd. I do very well with them, i dont know what people complain about, just dont sit it in the same place for too long, you always gotta pack and move it or else it's toast, its not that hard really. Heck, i've microed two and 3 mortars without getting one killed before by coutner barrage.

Well if I'm "facing it": according to Malevolence (and his logic makes sense to me) the US mortar has 3.2 seconds per shot and the Wehrmacht mortar 4 seconds. Face it!

And the barrage time per shell is still 3.2 and 4 seconds exactly. In fact, with the vet 1 range increase, and so many variances in stats, I don't think the wehrmacht's mortar is all that much better.
