Currently the precision strike is next to useless, and is only purchased because there's nothing else useful (tank smoke that uses the main gun? cmon). I had an idea for a way to implement the Ju-87 and I think it would be perfect in this role.

The Ju-87 strike would have a somewhat shorter whine like a mini V-1, so it would have a warning, but it wouldn't drop bright flares warning everyone to "step aside please". It would drop only two Stuka-zu-fuss type rocket explosions side by side in a relatively small area. So, if the enemy was alert, they could still move their crewed weapons, but they wouldn't know exactly where it was going to hit and get away every single time. This would have a similar advantage as the strafe, since it wouldn't telegraph its arrival, but would be only two shots, so it would require some anticipation and skill to hit something. This would make the strike deserve to be in T2, and also make it worth purchasing for 50pp.

Some people have argued that blitz doesn't deserve any offmaps at all, but I don't see how that is so important, as so many other doctrines are loaded with offmaps. At the same time, I feel this would fix the precision strike problem, and would satisfy the need that the CoH has had for a long time, the true terror of the blitzkrieg... the Stuka dive bomber.

this is about off maps not on maps, blitz has the stuh which is considered sort of on map arty.

anyways, precision strike works good if you know how to use it, the other day my ally and i had two AT guns kind of close together right when we were getting attcked at a different part of the map the blitz player popped a strike on our ATGs and got BOTH of them! If you know how to use it it's pretty effective.

that what me combined with an MI usage from my teammate.

precision strike is incredibly powerful if you use it on a support weapon (preferably mortar, or at gun) that isn't in an engagement. pop MI, scout with storms (since you're blitz..) and watch it blow up.

it's one of the easiest offmaps to use in the game (besides strafe). but like all offmaps, if you suck at using it.... it won't have the desired effect.

It's also pretty easy to dodge, although a little trickier with the new drift mechanic. Compare it to the other axis off-maps, or any of the other off-maps that do damage really, and it's no where near as good. Can you kill a support weapon, or two if they are very close together, yeah, but you can do that with any other off-map and likely more reliably even if your opponent sees it coming.

I don't like off-maps either, I'm actually more then fine with the idea of getting rid of them and just giving everyone an on map option, but if you're comparing T-2 off maps, yeah precision strike is pretty meh.

let me put it this way

it's an amazing offmap for a doctrine that never did and still shouldn't have ANY offmap at all.

TBH I used to hate it but now I no longer care for it. I'm too smooth to get hit by Precistion Strike.

A bit offtopic here, but can the StuH actually shoot over hedges?
Last time I tried it didn't work.
