The instances in which strafing does significant damage are NOT rare.  Most every time ive seen it used it destroys what it targeted or sends it retreating.

Again tell me why you think Strafing Run should be special and not be able to be dodged?  None of the arguments put forward have had any valid points.

You say it shouldnt be dodgeable because it is used against advancing infantry.  OK.  Now tell me again why it should have no warning?  So you think it should remain the instant I WIN button because thats what is.  Currently it completly halts any infantry advance and sends the units running back home.  It doesnt just slow them down it kills them or sends them retreating with no warning.

Best case scenario for the axis player getting strafed is the units dont get completly destroyed and they atleast get to keep their vet.

The reason I compared it to Precision Strike is because they both have a small hit area.  And the argument for no delay has been that it will become easy to dodge because of this small hit box.  I disagree because it will have no drift and 1 second is hardly enough time to dodge it unless you were already focusing on the targeted units AND you have a quick reaction time.  Atleast Precision Strike has a 4 second delay after the smoke hits AND it has drift.  So PS has a small hit box, a 4 second delay, AND it drifts...  Why dont blitz players start asking for no smoke, no delay?  As a blitz player I will answer that for you.  Because it would be extremely OP to be able to destroy units with no warning or chance to dodge and all the allies that get hit by it would complain.  Much like strafing run is currently.

But all this back and forth is really pointless because the change has already been announced for the better.  Its getting smoke and a 1 second delay whether we agree or disagree.

Want a replay that shows Strafing Run destroying 2 stormtrooper squads instantly?  Stormtroopers have been able to cloak since CoH came out and they still can.  Relic has obviously has never seen any balance issue with cloaking stormtroopers.

It doesnt matter though since its getting the delay and smoke finally which is all it needed.

And the personal attack is not needed in the this thread Groundfire.

So... exactly what side of your face are you speaking from. Storms can cloak in CoH and there is no smoke for strafe in CoH.

The problems lies with this being a mod. When your storms are Strafed, they are destroyed on some occasions and/or must be retreated. This is not often, but for the sake of argument, lets say it is. So because you can not bring those units back on the field, you feel the strafe is OP.

So all being fair in love and war, the armor units that you insta rape with your Storms that are destroyed and/or must be retreated also can not be brought back on the field. In some rare cases, the armor unit may survive and be repaired. But we all must admit, if the armor unit always survived, you wouldn't waste munitions on the Storms.

So once again I say you and other axis players are complaining about a very good counter for an invisible insta gib armor unit. A unit that in CoH is balanced, but in the EiRR environment is not balanced.
And please do not waste my time telling me how many munis Shrek Storms cost; Unless of course you are willing to accept a very high muni cost for strafe that has a 99% chance of killing all the units in it's path, with out warning of any kind, and can not be dodged. You know, just like shrek storms versus Armor.

As I said, Its being changed to a delay and smoke.  I am happy and I feel it will work out fine.  No point in discussing it further, wait and see how it works out.

And BTW, Stormtroopers can be dodged.  Its called keeping a scout near your vehicles.  No way to scout strafing run coming!
