I think its a fairly decent weapon but to make it more appealing you could consider making it cloak in cover like the 6lber, as it has such short range. thoughts?

btw does super charged rounds effect the 2 inch mortar aswell giving it more range?

f

its supposed to be it doesn't seem like it does.

Right now it's a shorter ranged allied mortar with 2-4 more damage, which really isn't all that much.

i tried to make mortars and mgs cloak in cover in FOF, and it worked good.  The problem was only hte mortar and MG uncloak when firing and not teh infantry attached to it, unless I missed something.

nope.
thats exactly what the Pak used to do. each man uncloaks himself/ weapon uncloaks itself.

BTW play tiger ace campaighn and steal the claock they use there. the who squad being "revealed" nd needing to recloack is a vary good idea with lots of eir/ fof potential.

Yea. Im with puddin on this one.

Why does everyone want their Support Wpns to be cloakable???

I mean, if your mortar is being a)seen b) shot at, then you have probably made a bad move, or you've been out maneuvered.

Most of the time you should be firing into fog, or behind a hedge or screened with scouts.

Plus, you'll be able to see the mortar smoke trail anyways, so thats kinda redundant.

If you simply want to be hidden safely when not being used then just put them somewhere else, or 1/2 track it.

i mean it'd be cool to cloak it but why? now, hmg's, that would be fun to cloak especially if it works like most cloaking units and will only fire at infantry and not fire at vehicles.

Doesn't that pretty much guarantee the suppression of infantry? You can just hold-fire until the infantry get about halfway into the MG range, and then shoot + suppress them.

I do believe we have reached the consensus that there should be no cloaking Wpn Teams to be added.

The only way this would happen is if a doctrine had it as an ability.

Hardly. The British Royal Canadian might have the best artillery, but 2/3 of their artillery require unlock, as well as the commandos support team.

The engineer have nothing except their 2inch. Their AVRE and Croc are mid and high tier unlock.

The 2inch is only useful as a defensive mortar. Their range is too short to safely attack.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. -- RFC 1925

I totalyl agree that its a poor excuse for artillery.

However, Brits players (most of them) have large quanties of Recon Snipers avalible as an alternative as a whole. OR should you wish, Rifle Grenades.

RE players get the AVRE (which in my opinion is far suprior to any artillery piece when used in conjuction with recon tommies.

and Commando players get Smoke/commadno combo.

These are by no means a replacement for the mortar (except maybe for the AVRE, cause they're awesome) but a different approach for a different faction.
