It seems to me the problem of stomping goes hand-in-hand with two other general problems in EiR; the problem of stacking, and the general mechanics of EiR as they now stand.
With respect to stacking (and I dont think Smokaz is guilty of this, but there are more than a couple of players who seem to prefer it) thats just part of the game in a persistency mod. Folks dont wanna lose the troops they've earned for nothing or in a suicide effort. For example, I used to try to play every game to win but as soon as i got vet2 and vet 3 on soe units I found I didnt want to call them out in a game I felt was either lost or not worth the effort. But with a small player base that kind of attiitude necessarily leads to elitism. Those who can play (or are rank
vs those who cant (or are rank 1) and are just learning. I dont know if there's a solition here unless veterancy is something you buy with SPs rather than earn them, and making everyone's army custamizable.
In terms of mechanics, and i think particualrly in terms of veterancy and doc abilities some units just seem way out of whack, to the point that for some new players the game is unrecognizeable. I know the devs are working on this and others have detailed the many problems, for both the axis and allies. In relation to stacking, however, these gameplay probs are only aggravated since the seasoned players know the units that are most cost-beneficial, and in which cases a unit has no real hard counter unless you overspend (think Stags or T17s).
