So I have an English bookreport in a couple of months, but since I'll probably have to order one in the bookshop, it can take some time before it arrives. (English is not my main language)
But anyway, do any of you guys know any good English books?

+1 should be recognised aswell as it's a book used in english G.C.S.E exams, well sometimes- However Lord of the Fly is the more advanced book, completely different. |

Enders game is really trite, I felt so cheated after reading this book. Great idea, mucho buildup and then FLUMP the story is over before you even get a boner for whats gonna happen.

The Sharpe series is said to be extremely good. (About the Napoleonic wars).
A Tale of Ice and Fire (IIRC the title) is also very interesting. (Medieval fantasy)
Then there's the HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy. A classic. (Duh)
And I agree with speigas : Deathstalker = win. Then again, anything by Simon R. Green is.
The Stainless Steel Rat series is also great. ( Sci Fi).

Go with of mice and men, the other stuff seem to just be books ppl like. Of mice and men is english literature that most of us had to study in school. You'll be able to write a lot about it too

Try 'Animal Farm' by Orson Wells. It's fucking awesome and it's a real easy read for someone who's first language isn't English.
And I may be wrong, but I thought 'Of Mice, and Men' was set in California? Either way it's boring as fuck. Steinbeck is overrated. I just can't get into his writing.

Milton's "Paradise Lost", and a set of cliffs notes = A+ book report. Trust me, im an English Major. 
J/k, no highschool student reads Paradise lost, you would be caught plagerising immediately. |

Charlie Mike by Lenard B Scott and The expendables. Good vietnam Books, ITs the only books i have read cover to cover in about 5 days, I literally stayed up late auntill 3-4 am to read those books. The 2 i mentioned take about 4-6 guys, you learn their back story, you learn where they come from what motivates them... Then you see how theycome together and its a movie in a book. I could see the atmosphere, Feel how everything was going and it truly was made into a High dollar Hollywood movie in my head the likes of which i have yet to ever see made.
