http://www.pokeworldonline.com/ for all you who haven't seen this yet.. PokéWorld Online is a free Pokémon based MMORPG written in C# and XNA. It was created to provide fans of Pokémon with way to go back to the original games they know and love while playing with their friends throughout the whole experience. The major long term goal is to serve as a re-creation of the original Pokémon games allowing you to explore all 4 of the continents while battling other players and catching some of your favorite Pokémon. pretty sure it dosen't work like that, its the IP that counts whether its for profit or not. Happened to those guys who built a Space Hulk game for free. Games Workshop made them shut it down.

Yea, exactly. I think mysthalin is thinking of COH and modding (and I guess modding in general), which is allowed as long as it's for free. You can't just use someone else's intellectuel property without permission, even if you don't make any money out of it. |
