Fellow comrades,
I've been thinking of all these discussions about PP:s, SP:s, former system for doctrines and all that. Anyways, since it seems like it should be a balance between be able to evolve your company and being friendly to new players/companies I come up with the following idea.

I don't want to discuss the doc.-abilites, PP:s, SP:s, art. or whatsoever, use the ones we have been using lately as a reference and look for the general idea of the following.

In the current system the doc. powers grows from the smallest buffs to the biggest. It goes fast in the beginning and becomes slower as you progess. I displayed it in a graph, below.

My suggestion is to like... revert the doc. pyramid, hence the first doc. choice you make is a current T4 (I will name the Tiers accordingly to the current system). Of course you will get only one (1!) T4, and so on.

By changing the doc. tree to either T4 (1), T1 (4), T2 (3) and T3 (2)
or T4, T3, T2, T1 (as a measure of power with the current system as a reference) the first favors a quick start followed by a slow process in gaining power for your company. The other option tend more to just give the hardcore longterm players a total of slight edge (in terms of the T2 and T1 which takes a time a to get).

I displayed them in two graphs below, in order.

Someone said that the T4 is what makes your company specialized so why not make it that from the beginning and make it easier for new players/companies. You still need to play some games to get it (it will not cost 100PP:s, the cost for doc. should switch as they change position in the doc. tree, although a current T1 should maybe not cost 100PP:s, hehu).

The PP-cost should be discussed!

You could realistically replace all the infantry with different colored gummy bears and the tanks with My Little Ponies and have the same game.

I would like to see that MOD! Cheesy

You know, as weird as it sounds I think this is actually a really good idea. I would like to see it happen

It would be quite weird to have such powerful abilities practically off the bat, but the idea behind it definitely has merit.

Yeah, I agree Unknown. But if you see the T1, T2, T3 as the doc. abilities and the T4 as a specialization of which doc. you have chosen it all falls to place Tongue Or something... I dunno!

You could also nerf the T4:s (the first you chose but still make them very powerfull) and buff the T1:s (if they are last) etc. Don't look at the numbers just the general idea. You could also make the T3:s as first tier and then get the T1, T2, and lastly T4 which gives you a strong start but the power still remains in the last tier.

If this is easy enough to work we could have a backwards week.

Hell maybe ad a -1 multiplier to everything so units start at 1000xp and lose it.

Im right there with you.

It does sound weird, but... it could work Wink
The Dev team will need to have a wee chat, especially the balance team.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.

The weird part is the titles.

If you change it, this sounds perfectly normal.

Company Specialization (replacing "T4"); Then you purchase T1, T2, T3.

The big issues will be whether or not the doctrine abilities are really balanced....like that will ever happen =)

I don't like the sound of that, sounds like we'll actually be forced to do something!

Cool. I do like the premise behind it that's for sure.

Instead of it going backwards and calling them tiers again, why don't we go

T4, t1-t3

so you start with your specialization, then you start to pick up the lil knick knack that make up your company. T3's IMO are what really separates your company from others.

and hey eir mod, we ever going to see the idea I had for viewing the game lobby from the site? Or is that scrapped?

Since you only get one specialization (compared with the power of a T4) that will seperate your company from the others hand in hand with the last two T3:s, yeah!

This will go further to promte deletion of companies just to build them for the first one then who cares.

ITs a ncie idea, But the abuse side of it will get out of hand pretty fast...

In the current implementation - you only get 1x T4/T3, and 2x T2s (and... 3x T1s)

True but he did say he'd have to balance them better. It kinda reminds me of the old eir when you got certain doctrines, you'd get a certain title for your company that you'd see in the leaderboard, was really neat. You were just Tym, you were Artillery Commander Tym or General of the Army Tym, it was pretty sweet.
