Is the Churchill MkVI supposed to not have the tank shock or mine plow upgrades?

mkvi is a joke

it costs like 80 extra fuel and you cannt buy tankshock or mineplow anymore.

in return you get....  THE UNUPGUNNED SHERMAN GUN

I thought everyones primary bitch was that the gun was shit? Having a sherman gun on that survivable a platform sounds pretty decent -shrug-

sherman gets it kills with the 50 cal too. sherman is also a higher platform so the bullet will hit the ground less times. but if you introduce an upgunned tank variant i expect a gun thats better vs tanks, not that you make the tank better vs infantry (but at the same time make it worse vs inf becouse tankshock and mineplow is gone)

Well you clearly don't know how to use a sherman properly then :p
Shermans can easily rack up 15+ infantry kills and are reliable against vehicles as well (+ have the ability to fend off lower level tanks). Now a sherman gun on churchill armour is absolutely worth it.

can someone answer the main question for this???

also is the price going to be adjusted for having the 75mm sherman gun instead of the 76mm???  maybe lower the fuel cost by 10 or so.  The main difference between the Sherman + Churchill besides the lack of upgrades for the churchill is that the Churchill is much slower, but in return has better armour.

There's not really a reason why it couldn't have those upgrades, in theory.

It never had a 76mm gun, so that's a non argument for lowering its price.

MkVI is not getting those upgrades because the MkIV would be even more obsolete if it did.

MkVI price is being adjusted, please wait for the next patch.

And why is this in the bug forum? Huh

Do anyone even use MkIV? IMO MarkVI should be the standard.

That's like saying we'll implement the wind-up bug to the M18 instead of removing it on the M10 Tongue.

The Mk IV is obsolete from the get go, noone ever uses them, because it's absolute SHIT. If you want suppression - you'll take a Wickers, not a tank shock Mk IV. The wickers costs less, takes up just 3 pop, not 10 and doesn't get raped in less than half a minute by a pak.
Mineplow? I'd rather the 1 pop, 80 MP 10 MU minesweeper for mineclearing. Not like you'll catch anything that's not on a road with the mineplow, anyway.

I never thought I'd see myself type this, but Mysthalin is right.

There is no such thing as making the MK IV "more obsolete". It would be like kicking a horse that has been shot, doused in gasoline and lit on fire, electrocuted, and decapitated - it can't get "more dead".

The MK VI should have access to the mineplow and tank shock. I still won't waste the PP's unlocking it, but there is no reason to ruin a second churchill out of some imaginary ideal that it will somehow reduce the horribleness of the first.

Or maybe Tank Shock and the Mine Plow should be free on the MkIV? Maybe cheaper repairs, or a cheaper MkIV on the whole?

Again agree with Mys, why would anyone purchase the inferior Mkiv?  It's already a horrible tank, it's key feature was heavily nerfed and is very much useless (the tank shock) which negates the usefulness of the mineplow as anti mine and anti infantry (like ze Crab flail!).

The 'upgun' is too expensive for basically the same tank with a slightly better anti infantry gun.  Churchill croc is - hands down - the better tank as it has more HP (thus easier to keep alive and retain vet), a powerful flamethrower and a decent gun (though not able to target things at will).

I myself wouldn't waste a point to unlock the MKiv, and their manpower prices are too similiar while the supposed upgraded version of the inferior version is just way too expensive. That's just my opinion though.

The upgun is far superior anti-infantry, like five times better.

And you realize the croc has the same gun as the MkIV yes?  Wink

I can't pretend to know everyone of the doctrine abilities by heart, but whatever doctrine ability Killer had buffing his churchill made it retarded. It slaughtered my P4 and was gibbing infantry reliably.
