I just feel its really bad...the drift is crazy. I rather have 1 sec more delay then so much drift.

I dont know about other off maps maybe they are supposed to be kinda unpredictable?

(i want the old rocket arty that could kill a callie, just like that)  Cool

it's still nasty and it hits a wide area, the thing with rocket arty is the area is much more predictable than say, precision strike and ami arty.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

The random element was good when there was a lot of arty, now that its reduced - the drift will be looked at.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.

I personally like the random element, and would on the opposite want that everything can be countered on-map. I am not a real fan of "one-click solutions". Luftwaffe and Airborne off-map "attacks" are atleast possible to shoot down with AA.

The issue was the drift made certain ability useless but didn't really affect others.

For example, 105mm offmap is useless with drift, but firestorm is still rape sauce with drift.   What you're looking for is increasing artillery spread, which we will look into with the drift reduction.

Actually some would argue that the Luftwaffe and AB off-maps are the best at the moment since they are unaffected by drift.

Yeah, a spread would be more natural and balanced.
Ye, they are not affected by drift as it is made now, but I just said that I prefer on-map artillery instead of off-map. And the most "on-mapish" off-map is airplanes.

It's just that if I build a nice defense on 3/5 of the map, consisting of different soft support units, then almost anyone can say: fuck that! And magically neutralize the defense.

Ofcourse there must be ways to take out defenses, but that's why there also is on-map artillery + things like AVREs etc. And these can be countered.

Off-map artillery sure do speed up things, but that is the same with a Deathstar. One of those would also speed up things. Tongue

(This is just a few thoughts about gameplay)

Except not really. Planes are nearly impossible to shoot down, the only thing that works effectively is a lucky shot from an 88 (lucky because it has to hit), and the 88 can't be targeting anything else, and it has to be coming from a certain distance otherwise the 88 cannot raise its elevation fast enough. Ostwinds, Wirbelwinds, Flakvierlings, Pumas, Armoured Cars, Quad 50mms, and Bofors 40mm all struggle to actually bring down the plane even though they shoot at them.

In addition, shooting down planes often has little effect. Recon planes still get good recon in, strafes finish firing far before they get shot down, Panzerknackers will fire far before they get shot down and there are multiple of them. And every plane luckily shot down has a chance to crash into something of yours causing massive damage.

Just for the sake of wasting time, the effectiveness of various weapons vs. aircraft:

Quad .50cal: 0x pen modifier, never kills
40mm Bofors- 150%! accuracy, about five shots to kill
88mm FlaK - 33% accuracy, one shot kill
20mm AC/Puma - 15% accuracy, five or six hits to kill
20mm Quad (FlaK) - 10% accuracy, five or six hits to kill
20mm Quad (Wirbelwind) - 35% accuracy, two to three hits
37mm Ostwind - 35% accuracy, three hits to kill

(It turns out Bofors are actually quite useful here, but ssshhh)

You guys are kind of beating a dead horse here, it was already stated that the drift is going to be minimised :p

Don't forget the wirblewind fires 6 shots a second, with a 2,25 second burst.. So 13.5 shots in a burst.
That's on average 4.725 shots hit in a burst... I'd put my money on the wirble nearly always killing the plane Wink.
