It's really easy to dish out negative criticism of any game or project, and it's not as often that you hear public, positive comments.
EIR:R's an awesome mod - I love Company of Heroes, but sometimes it just doesn't have a certain feel I wish it did...almost like my units were toy soldiers. And sometimes the game-play degenerates into flavor-of-the-week-spamming in CoH, unfortunately.
I *really* like that in EIR each unit is special, valuable. If you can get that tank back to safety and repair it, it'll be out fighting again and it WILL make a difference. If you throw it away, you can't just build another one - part of your battalion is gone for good. It adds a whole new level of depth and strategy that vCoH could never, ever have.
I like that in 3v3's, or any multi game - someone can be rolling around with a tank battalion, while another player is providing support, and that (most) people are smart enough to coordinate this stuff intuitively. In CoH if you just play one side (inf/armor) of your army, you usually get steamrolled. You never know what you're going to get here...for example, I pulled out six nebels and five flammens one day - for fun. But hey - it WORKED (lucky for Demon).
I also like how units get concentrated, or don't sometimes. What I mean is...on a 3v3, you and your team-mates may have a long thin line protecting your territory, and you have to hold that line or your flank really gets turned - and you have a serious problem. In CoH, that kinda works, but it's not the same - it's easier to recover and recoup your losses. And - sometimes here, plays build a strong-point with tanks, AT, AI, and arty - and it's a tough-as-crap nut to crack.
A solid game in EIR:R is *tiring*. It's a mental exercise, and it's not easy, but it's very fun. Thanks for your work!

Looks like unlike some of the newer players, you have gotten lucky enough to get a bite of what makes EIRR so damn sweet. Lucky bastard, my first EIR* experience was attacking as allies agains schultz and draken on rtc.
EIRR is tiring to play, but at least you get a lot of rest.. between the games.. LOL

He made a funny thread for bear, and got banned.
Now bear makes his own funny thread. It's unsurprisingly not funny.

Have to echo this sentiment big time. My initial impression of the mod was... clunky interface. My first 2 games were a steep learning curve indeed, followed by a game with C0redian where my noobish platoon builds were pretty embarrassing despite us scraping a win. The couple of games i've played since then have been some of the best games of CoH i've played, bar none. The sort of games when it's over you sit back, take a deep breath and go, "whoa, that was awesome

Cheers guys,
All us Devs really need the input for bugs and balance - but its these kinds of posts that we *really* need if you know what Im saying?
As Unkn0wn said, it keeps us going.
I look at what we have and think 'What a fucking mess' but then its not close to what I vision as our finished product.
Keep on hanging in there, we still have a lot to do, and a lot of great things coming. (Slowly albeit.)

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.
