Guys, I apologize if you enjoyed the soldiers in the web design but they had to go.  They made the site loading times unbearable in IE.  Rest assured we are working on a completely new design which will move us away from the forum backend and into our own with the forum just being an add-on.

They were cool but they did cause massive loading times and other annoying things. It is better for the site this way...

P.S. Please could you just put a colour other than white behind though.

I turned off the soldiers the same day they appeared. You can choose default forum appearance.

But I'm not sure how fast he'll get it done and it's absolutely mandatory that we move away from the forums and into our own layout by August 29th (the magazine release). 

I downloaded a free clean template that I thought would offer lots of options and started playing with it... not sure about it.  It's doesn't really look very 'moddish' but it'd be straight-forward, user-friendly and speedy. 

In addition, I'm not sure if we are going to be able to build the whole site around what asynd's doing...

I also have someone else working on some photoshop mockups...

Yes.  That's the main goal, separate it from the forums.

I'm using 'soldiers behind theme' so luckily I don't have that bright green as background atm .
(It has the old colour, just no soldiers, works fine for now)
