So pretty much it's a mix between a CCT/LT if you let it supervise tanks again (The fact that it buffs tanks, yes I know it does give the same buffs as the CCT/LT), really not the greatest of ideas with its offmap thrown in there and his beefiness too. Just saying from experience of using him.

His leadership to infantry is vastly inferior to the captain's imo, captain grants his very good bonuses to a entire sector. I would prefer to be able to buy the def officer without the offmap, like you can with captains.

It's definitely 1.25 acc 1.2 damage - better than any aura in the game, to be perfectly honest with you : an entire 50 percent increase in DPS.
The problem with it, though, is the fact that it can only affect one unit at a time, and the T3s radius is simply pitiful.

If the radius were increased to something like 25-30, rather than the current 10, the defensive officer's usefulness would rise incredibly.

The idea of separating the barrage from the officer and having it have it's own cost is also a good one.
