4. What's your general view on things so far?
Whoever is RGD Lead needs to get back to work.

Back to the Kitchen cookin'

1. Around here and there

2. Youtube tutorials and other things

3. It was terrible spam from allied players. TRs and Airborne. Poor newb like me was manhandled 24/7

4. It is going awfully at the very moment. No SP cost on veterancy means that people spam offmaps every game. Esp the allied side seems to get a hold on pretty a many of those on the RCA side and Infantry Doctorine. The spam with the current availability system is somewhat terrible and I'd rather have OMG's availability system as it seems more reliable someway somehow (Number of units you can have per game. i.e 2 Kangoroos per game). Plus some of the doctorines are quite meh...I hope to see the situation improve.

We give you guys cool doctrines and someone finds a way to break the game with them. Everyone else copies said strategy and everyone gets pissed.

THIS IS WHY WE CANNOT HAVE NICE THINGS!

You know, if each doctrine was specialized they would all have a weakness to be exploited.

Instead we have doctrines providing mass across the board buffs + offmaps.

Each doctrine should focus on a themed style of play and different methods of achieving said style.

RCA for instance should be artillery support of different types, field howi's, larger pieces, mobile pieces, offmaps. Not Offmaps, onmaps, infantry and tanks.

That also creates a problem where people are playing tank hunters or airborne which do very narrow jobs

Most doctrines do offer a certain amount of specialisation in the T3s and the T4s to be honest, some doctrines just do a better job than others. And your T4 is your prime specialisation really. (Considering it's the ability that weighs in most)

T4's are usually no better than a t3, since the double t3's has to be as viable as t3 + t4.

Also, buffs across the board have always been more effective than a specialized company. Since they can counter any and all units effectively only losing maybe 10-15% effectiveness vs a specialized company but have more issues vs other units.

If every company is specialized, then yes, it may have issues vs some doctrines, but that is the whole point of teammates.

Lol. Let's see if I can remember.

1. /tg/ thread on 4chan. This was one of the mods listed, figured it'd be something interesting to do instead of my Uni work.

2. Looked shiny, liked the idea of persistency.

3. 3v3 Reinforcements match, came on last with a Brit infantry/LT blob. (Didn't know better at the time.) The other team promptly dropped, bitching about "OP allies" or something. I was... confused.

4. It's fun and interesting, though my seeming inabilty to get appreciably better at the game is starting to dampen the fun a bit. Also I've gotten great at solitaire. (ggkthx, launcher waits!)

Someone on the Gamereplays forum posted some story about a Sherman he named.. Stumpy... or something... and about how he survived all these battles and had an elite vet crew... and then got tragically butt raped by a Tiger, or a Panther, or whatever.

People promptly told him he was posting on the wrong forum and to go the fuck back to europe in ruins. Intrigued as I was, I went to the europe in ruins website to see wtf he was talking about and thought that the idea behind the mod kicked ass.

I haven't gone back to vCoH since. This was like... 2008 or so. Back when it was just Wehrmacht and Americans. I've had so many good memories here since then. No other game has lasted as long taking up precious hard drive space as EiR has.

Found a video about it, after getting better computer, downloaded it.

First guy I met was TheLastArmada, he was very nice and told me all about the mod  Smiley

First or second game I played on Neunen with BillNyetheNaziSpy and apparently he isn't much of a noob forgiver, after noticing how I put a Firefly and an ATG with Mandoes in the same call-in he retreated all of his Airborne stuff not wanting to lose vet and called me a noob. Even though I told him before the game began that I was a noob at EiR

It was a "meh" experience, thankfully I met Armada before Bill which is probably the reason why I stuck around for the long haul, I still don't understand what keeps me around EiR considering the vasts amount of spam company bullshit that I have to put up with nowadays and being one of the few people with a balanced company that intends on having fun instead of winning.

1: I was looking for vcoh videos on youtube when I saw one called "epic officer duel"

2: Well, I saw europe in ruins on the description, then the light bulb came on! "Ive seen that name before on vcoh news. hmmm...." Then I looked up the mod on google, and it seemed interesting to me. So I downloaded it and gave it a shot after watching several videos and reading info on the mod.

3: My first experience was good. I played a 1v1 with somebody, and I enjoyed it. I won the game because the other player was a noob too and forgot to fix his company after the previous battle lol.

4: I like the mod. It is more enjoyable to play than vcoh in my opinion, it discourages stupidity. I like the fact that many players are somewhat serious (while being casual as well), and the fact that many players communicate well (especially over vent). The only 2 problems that I have seen are as follows: (1) not many people are playing this mod at the present moment lol and (2) Some of the doctrines are messed up (like brit engineers), but I believe these will be fixed in future updates (obviously).

1) There was a mention of it on the EF forums, where I was a constant, and I thought it was fairly interesting.

2) I tried the mod out of pure curiousity.

3) My first expereince was absolute shit, was rolled into an epic stack. I'm still getting rolled every game ^^

4) I think it's fairly tiered towards the axis, and it feel like they get a lot of the 'new toys' (in coho--axis gets shit like 'blackout' and an off-map area heal. Outside the box thinking; allies got off-maps and camo to put on inf. BK mod, this mod, botb, allies get new sherman versions. ooooh. axis gets cheap goliaths in BK, pak40s, new arty, new inf, jagdtiger, etc.). However, I still generally enjoy the mod to death, so long as the game isnt so far stacked I know I'll lose before the outset Tongue.

1) A forum post on the CoHO forums.

2) The concept was interesting so I decided to try it out (CoHO was on a death clock at that point anyways).

3) Didn't know the proper composition of a company (was RCA) and got beat pretty bad.

4) It's a very well put together mod, I enjoy it very much when I have time for it, my only problems are that the veterancy system is not constructed for true permanence and the community is god-awful with a few exceptions.

1. Where did you hear first about EiR, what were your first impressions?
The EiR shoutcast was the thing that got me interested in this mod. The features of an all out war seems to be could intersting.

2. What made you try the mod?
Same as the above, it was the EiR shoutcast that made me try out the mod.

3. How went your first games/first experience with the mod?
Very difficult to manage at first, but I got the hang of it after several games and scoring my first win.

4. What's your general view on things so far?
Too early to say, but I can't wait to see more as I play EiR.
