but seriously... ost armour should be buffed.

the sherman croc has gotten great buffs, and that while it already had good sherman armour and 600 hp.
the ostwind has 400 hp and paper armour. in eir you always have to fight atgs and tanks already. but the ostwind is also useless against zooks or RRs.

You obviously haven't seen the difference in performance between the ostwind and the croc have you leo? Osts make great LV killers AND infantry killers, along with a much higher range and imo better killing ability, with less survivability whereas the croc is strictly anti building/infantry with more survivability, less range and less killing power unless you get some lucky crits, its pretty balanced as it is now, and plus ostwinds cost less munis because you aren't purchasing a dozer on it.

Tymathee, everyone heres know you're a fucking allie fanboy. Shut up and let's talk balance. Ostwind desperatly needs a buff. Let's compare a Ostwind and a ranger-zook fight vs a crocodile Shreck squad fight.

1st scenario with Ostwind: Kite, 1-2 guys died if you're lucky, fireup, rush, 2 volleys, Ostwind Dies.

2nd Scenario. Crocodile come. Shrecks fire. Schreck dont penetrate. Crocodile kills 3 mans of 4 in 3 seconds. Schreck fires again. Crocodile loses little to no health.

So, for units that are quite in the same price range, the difference in performances is quite high. Ostwind desperatly needs a buff. It's original purpose wasn't to kill lone m8's, right?

Uhh okay let's compare.  Shrek squads can stand and fight against a single croc just fine due to the iffy flame damage and its short range.  Unless you're running a Mys company with 3-4 crocs on the field at once.

The ostwind itself can engage Light vehicles AND kite infantry (with the only infantry options to counter being single bazooka riflemen, doctrine rangers or doctrine airborne), and frequently out ranges ranger/riflemen units (but RRs will mess it up though).  At long range bazookas will miss horribly, so the only chance rangers have is going in with at least 2 ranger squads to take the losses or running away and forcing the ostwind into hostile ground (such as hedges and city environments).  It is a threat against Greyhounds and Stuarts, and can cause infantry to 'pause' with its gun.  WIth proper use it doesn't need a buff, but if you use it horribly without support and scouts, then its just like every other axis or allied tank.  It's blind.

As a mass shrek defensive player, crocs really don't scare me as much as ostwinds do when I play my rangers.  It's like an IST to me, it's not something you should charge with infantry AT and instead counter with ATGs, cripple with stickies or counter with a tank.  Rangers can mess up an IST from behind too (and to the people who cry TR is OP, it still can't penetrate from the front and requires the unit to run past the target to get rear/side shots) but will take horrible losses from doing so unless its gun is destroyed or attention is elsewhere.

what? with stickies? but how is that possible if you kite all the time?
answer: you dont kite all the time. and if you dont for 1 sec the ost is dead. the croc however rapes the shit out of one schrecksquad, the schreck shoots one time, but then the croc has them and they are not gonna get away. even if you run away right at the moment you shot, you wont be able to fire back because of the long aim time of schreck.
yeah, if you chase the ost with bazookas the ostwind might do some damage, but that NEVER happens, and you could also be facing RRs,

Vet 2 stickies, suicide riflemen, or throwing through a hedge/building in order to cripple the engine and take it out of the game.

I play with plenty of shreks in my company that I generally am not afraid of crocs unless he catches me in trenches or buildings (in which case the flamer does more damage).  It's not the same flamethrower as the churchill croc, and doesn't do the constant rape force damage of its British cousin to really concern my infantry.  With rangers chasing ostwinds, if they use Fire-up, are blind (Airborne with Easy Company get long range site while running) while running and suffer from exhaustion (which airborne also do not suffer from via Easy Company).  At this point, your Ostwind can easily range the rangers or riflemen (as they can't sprint) and kill the entire squad very quickly, and of course this goes without saying but having one infantry squad to take small arms shots at the rangers helps the ostwind significantly.  Always screen/escort your vehicles and you'll quickly see how AT Rangers suck at AI situations when it is stacked against them, especially if said player is concerned about their vet.

RR's are another story entirely and rape tanks though.

uh, no i'm not, so you shut up, get your shit straight. I run a very successful defensive company that has 4 ostwinds in it, so its very true i love Ostwinds. I used to crush many a heavy light vehicle start with just an ostwind and p4 without the help of any of my teammates.

1st Scenario - Just like with ANY tank. If you're soloing it, you're playing wrong. If you have an hmg backing up that ostwind, it will utterly rape the ranger squad. I use ostwinds vs ranger squads all the time, the only thing that ever kills my ostwinds are RR's, AtG's and tanks, never rangers.

2nd Scenario - sounds like what happens when Zooks fire at any axis tank. Spare the boohoo that the allies have an upgrade that can ping schrecks now. I got raped by a croc once and never again. When I see one out, i keep my schrecks near my paks or near a tank. Scouting ftw.

Also, yes th ey're in the same price range but don't serve the same purpose.
Ostwind = anti infantry, anti-light vehicle (and actually better vs atg's than the croc is)
Croc = Anti building, anti-infantry

Ostwinds kill m8's, staghounds, t-17s, quads, m3 ht,  bren carriers, bikes, and stuarts very very well. they even damage m-10's and m-18's if you pop 'em in the butt. They can even take out a priest, they're good at killing atg's left over because of the continuous fire and other support weapons, it takes 2 hits to kill a sniper, one of my fav things to do when there's a sniper on the field is to take a bike or s-wagon, find the sniper and then use the ostwind to hunt it down.
