as for this...well it is nice to be able to play with friends from other regions, it also means one of you will have to settle for higher pings. Having relatively localized servers keeps pings for players much lower generally across the board, allowing for a better gaming experience. I very very rarely see complaints of lag in WoT, whereas it happens frequently in other non-regional games I play.
WT has this you know, before you hit the launch button you can set search to "EU, Russia, US or ALL" but in WoT it's all segregated. It's designed to be BS for their convenience, not the players.
