install not working

pair of problems, apparently i am a dumbass who cant figure out where to install the updater, tried it in the steam  coh file, tried it in the file it selects, neither works, just tells me im a dumbass.

Last one, is the vent server down or am i still a dumbass? just sits "contacting server" and other servers work.

Path would be > Program files > steam > steamapps > common > Company of heroes

install it there, the program makes it its own "Company of heroes" folder inside that directory, so im not exactly sure what to do at this point

and just because i forgot originally, what the heck is up with not being able to mid mouse button scroll on this site?

Well vent is down.
ummm, your trying to install it on a steam version generally doesn't work

and as to your mouse, it would be broken or some software on your pc is crapped out

the fact it makes a coh folder inside the other folder is a bug. try to place all the files in the new coh folder inside your "real" coh folder.

and the ventrilo server is indeed down atm. should be back up in a few days.

renember to run EIR in administartor mode if youre using win vista or 7

lol, we rly should fix that. Simple miss-hap, everyone seems to have a different install path. Im not sure how it works with steam but I know for me, the auto updater needs to be put into the company of heroes main directory.

For me thats D:\Programfiles\THQ\CompanyofHeroes

Yes, vent server is down atm. Payment issues. We do have another server up. Details are on the home page of the launcher. Bad luck, your not a dumbass.

My guess would be to copy everything in that new CoH folder into your old CoH folder.

I can use my middle mouse wheel fine. its probably something on your end.

should've thought of that i suppose, thanks leo, dragging them in to the original steam CoH folder got it updating.

And i meant the actual button, the mouse wheel itself works, but sometimes i click the button and scroll that way, doesn't seem to work on this site.

Just hope the fact that its updating means it all works, thanks for the quick replies
