Infantry officer, again
«

Disclaimer: Yes, less than 10 minutes after a game, whatever.
Why are they able to just walk up to an mg without being suppressed?

It's an officer, it's called have your MG supported. Officer gives anti-suppression aura, and an officer cannot buff himself, so two officers can give themselves suppression resist.

It's only really messed up when you can field 5-6 of these and just destroy all enemy infantry.
Needs to be 3 popcap tbh.

He's already high pool cost and pretty decently high MU cost, as well as being a T2 unlock. Needs to stay two pop in order to run with rangers or drop rangers to 5 pop if you want to nerf the officer. Already hard enough to fit him in a normal company.

Until you see companies just spamming these as their infantry and being very successful.
Its retarded.
Officers should either have 3 pop and direct combat abilities, or low direct combat and be 2 pop. 3pop only really makes officer spam less effective.

Then terror officer needs to come up as 3 pop.
Your fault for having a lone MG in a field against 5 officers. That's 5 'squads' worth of men charging an unsupported gun, besides the officer running across crater cover at you. Learn to support your MGs, what the allies have to do all the time.

What terror officer? It was removed ages ago.

I always felt the right thing to do was to make it a command squad with a restriction based on the number of infantry (riflemen/ranger) you had
ie you could have 1 Command sqaud per 5 infantry squads, to link in a platoon command structure.
Same aura buff etc, but with potentially some more interesting direction re doctrines that could be taken.
In the end we went with just the officer to retain like units.
Kind think seeing things like this missed a opportunity to advance the game in the right way.

And what about terror?
I see all axis defend that tooth ad nail?
Defensive officer? Buffs units.. and has Artillary that recharges... The reason you never see them spammed.. All you need is 2 and Boom all inf ruushes are scared...
Sooooooooooo
What have we learned class...
ANY UNIT Excessively SPAMMED WILL SEEM OP..
Welcome to Logistics 101...
2 Kts anyone rember that?
Yet 2 Pumas made him cry like a little baby, An inf Ht with MP44s made him yell for greyhound support... 1 Ostwind would have obliterated his rushes... Flammenwaffen? 5 pop cap 2 flame throwers?

Ferocity/Zeal was removed, KT was hardcapped. whats your point? Infantry outside of the carabine reduction, has never been dealt with. It's gotten so many buffs and capabilties that it's the new monster.

Infantry is OVERBUFFED? Really? Compared to Luft and Airborne, it's barely mild.
@ Nevyen - 5 squads is excessively high, when I can field, at best, 11 squads of rangers and that taps ALL my infantry pool. Should be really low like 2 or a 1-1 on the squads if that was suggested. He dies too easily to be hard capped to such a high number of infantry, and primarily is good just himself or with rangers (riflemen don't have the staying power to really stay alive long enough to be buffed by him).
+1 for Puddin's post, any unit 'spammed' seems OP, just like 3 Jadgs on the field or an army of entirely 4-man KCH, etc.

Wait a minute?
Someone got owned by a 5 officer call in?
They throw smoke at you, how could this possibly be a balance concern?
I cant remember the last time my officers got any kills. Not since the great Colt 45. rapage epidemic of .... October last year.

Can we get Terror officers back then, since 2 pop SMG officers are apparently fine. =)

Why you have the defensive officer...Then airborne need an officer as well... maybe with Slow... So it can duplicate the 4manKCH running down infantry...
But hey... Terror really needs ANOTHER buff.... Because yournot asking to make something Op... never right AMPM? I can;timagine that.....

Ya, cause terror is the most op of all doctrines....
After Armor, AB, Infantry, RE Churchills....maybe Blitz....
Yea, it's freakin UBER!!
Why do any Americans need an Officer? Defensive officer buffs 1 unit, and has a 10min recharge arty. He also has a pistol.
Ami officer affects any allied squads, drops smoke, and has an SMG.
Oh wait, Puddin, thats right, because if one side has something the other must have it too right? Yea, I forgot, thats what balance is, not two equally effective doctrines, but both being identical.
American doctrines are generally more powerful than the Wehr doctrines. Get over yourself.
