Assault riflemen with greaseguns/thompsons and assault engineers with flamers. I need an opinion because they sound like they're not that great and I should just buy rangers and regular engineers, but they sound like a lot of fun.

Assault rifles are awesome in my opinion. I can usually kill about 2 gren squads with 1 squad of assault rifles, and that is some awesome attrition.

They are all good imo. Different roles. Assault rifles are pretty nice.

i think assault inf with flamers are greater than engies with flamers but they die easyley just like regular inf so but have more of a kick to them than the sector arty.

Umm, the flamethrower is out, but the grease guns are in. Even better as there a full size rifle squad.

but once again, the fact is.

2 Assault rifle w/ flamethrower and 1 with grease = 340 mp and 120 mu

Considering they can kill reliably 2 gren squads with a lmg that = 480 mo and 150 mu

and 60 % of the time you will be able to go kill another 2 squads.

the bigest issue with the flamer is that unlike the grens and pios who lost their flamer crit where it'd explode the whole squad, the Rifelmen still had theirs, so you'd lose your whole squad by just 1 guy goin down a lot.

tbh, there just was no difference in usesable between rifle flamer and engie flamer unless u got doc abilities that benefitted riflemen, actually even then i dont think the assault rifelmen were affected by any buffs so nvm

the flamer is nice, but imho, the grease gun rapes at mid range
