Well, me and one of my friends have been thinking - what about giving extra PPs for playing these game modes? They're pretty rare nowadays, even when being rather balanced for both the attackers and the defenders. Extra PPs would at least give an incentive to play these game modes over M/E and R+

You know, Ill bet that almost 1/2 the time, M/E gets played because its the default launcher setting.
We should probably just focus on how atk/def will work when the warmap comes. PPs are on their way out.

ah, last attack/defend was so long ago i forgot its in....... ME feels so natural now, but yea like Groundfire said , warmap will bring them back. 88 defend starts , with bunker town and mine spam .

Are modes going to be automated in the warmap? So something like everyone plays the same mode until the other side turn it over like before.

might be so , might be per sector if anything like 'sectors' will be in , 1 sector axis defend , other sector axis attack , another is neutral and both fight with ME for it etc and after turn it changes. I wonder how 'reinforcements' game mode will fit in.

Attack / Defend are pretty buggy right now and your best bet is avoiding them until we get it fixed. Deployment timers should be working then too so it'll mesh well.

I can't wait to make a US armour account that has a 2 calliope start to counter the wave of Defensive players who will have no mobile units to be able to stop such a thing.

remove extra pop attackers get but give the attackers more PP(defenders will get normal PP). Now there is also a reason why stompers would want to go attack/defend (and make it a bit easier for those who will get stomped). autobalance system created.

I don't know how the attack/defend system really works, but removing an in-game balancing factor for a little benefit out of game seems like a terrible idea.

Balance is not removed. Attack/defend was before and it was ok. Was alot more interesting to attack someone and defend. Sometimes attackers couldn't go through first defense line , and sometimes defenders couldn't even setup if there was a blitz t4 company that deployed earlier on map.

With the way the Warmap is going to function Attack/Defend is going to be the standard match type.
In form it's worked great for many years in EiR. I see no need to change the mechanics of Population gain for attackers.

no The biggest problem is that when its attack. Half the 'defenders' who want it are running 88 spam. And if there smart have a buddy with marder/flack verling spam
