oh, i think i get it!

1 x bounce dmg     = 75 x 1.25 x 0.15            =   14.0625
1 x penetrate dmg = 75 x 1.25            =  93.75
4 x penetrate dmg = 93.75 x 4                       = 375
total                                                                = 389.0625
                                                           
                                                            = 97.27% of 400 HP ostwind
                                                            = Enough for red health death crit

One thing I don't understand though is why the ostwind needed 5 hits to die when i tested it. maybe because of the missing bounce?

so taht also means that it does less damage from long range cuz the Long range aoe is .75, med is 1 and short is 1.25.

the AOE damage modifier affect damage from the point of impact, not the distance from the rocket launcher and the target.

The staghound's mainly strength is that the 450hp is more reliable than the m8 or the puma's dodging... You know atleast you're going to survive 3 hits where as the m8 and puma sometime get screwed over on a bad roll, and unlike vcoh the schreck will hit reliably at close range.

The main gun itself is too slow firing to be a big threats, it's when you combine the staghound with the .50cal and go bum rape on your enemy.

I think it's worth pointing out that for some stupid, stupid reason the Staghound actually has dodge against the PaK40. I'd like to hear the reasoning for that.

for some reason the staghound .50cal have twice the accuracy of the normal .50cal on the greyhound/sherman. Probably explain why it's so powerful with the upgrade.

pak 40 fails hard against stag....tried it,didn't end well at all...

Pak 40 is better at killing tanks, but bad vs Light Vehicles. Pak 38 with its Ambush is good against Tanks and also Light vehicles. This way the Pak 40 isn't a straight up replacement for the Pak 38.

Ok i just played another game where I came up against an enourmas amount of stags, those things literella drove infront of my Pak40 and P4 raped the infantry and the pak and drove away with 10% left...WTF  Huh

My P4 was unable to kill the thing or get any critical in the time it needed to rape the Pak and another infantry squad, it also took 2 hits while it was at 10% but those did no damage.

The PaK40 already costs more than the PaK38 and has no cloak, not to mention it's slower. That's a pretty damn big advantage for the PaK38 there. I don't see why it should suffer against LVs.

Things the PaK 40 is better than a PaK 38 against....Pershing, Churchill...

Things it is worse against....Sherman, M10, M18, M8, T17, Firefly, Cromwell, Bren Carrier, Staghound, Jeep, Halftrack.

Other advantages of PaK 38 include, speed, price, cloak, ambush bonus.

I leave it up to you guys to figure out which one will give you more use.

Also, in terms of raw Damage per Second, the PaK 38 and PaK 40 are the same.

I would consider the PaK40 better against the Sherman, just because I hate bouncing off it with the second shot of a PaK38. But everything else on that list... definitely.

PaK40 should have cloak, more firepower and health than the 38. Maybe give it to terror, defensive already have 88 and ninja paks.

It can't move cloaked, and a T4 shouldn't affect how the unit is balanced without said T4 anyways.

It already does have significantly more firepower and health than the PaK38, though. PaK38 outdoes it or comes about equal in DPS though, because of that first cloaked shot and faster fire rate.

It probably does need some looking at. Let's not move it to Terror, though... the PaK40 fits in perfectly with Defensive, just because it has another anti-tank gun doctrine unlock that's nothing like a PaK40 whatsoever doesn't mean it should be moved to Terror.

My mistake, I could have sworn it said only PaK38. However, I am still pretty sure they can't move while cloaked... but if someone who has that T4 could say for sure that'd be nice.
