I know, thats why I dont generalize them and hope for better ones to prevail (hardly) but on principle none of policemen should have any prejudices and such attitude, no? Why I am interested? I saw some time ago, video of cop shouting on some poor kid from distance to halt (some nearby robbery) and started running towards him, ofcourse he started to run too, you know its like basic reflex from animal times, fun ends when officer put him down in motion alá american soccer ( :p ) but against wall and kid died. And here we are again he should have not run if he did not do anything right?

What I am interested in knowing - is it anything you americans can do about such things when you feel things are spinning out of control? Genuinely interested

I like that you can have guns, it is at least some factor which abusers of power must think about. But I kid you not I would be in big trouble in USA my first reaction when somebody groping me by neck from behind like cattle would be instant elbow to face or neck even b4 I would know its police.

If you are being chased by a policeman and you run, that's basically a crime in it itself, one of the stupidest things you can do. Even if you have committed a crime you shouldn't run. Most people's reflex would be to stand still.
