Hey guys,

Ive been a bum with the shoutcasts lately. This is because I lost all my intro and recording footage and programs a while back. I could've just FRAPsed any old game and threw it up here but that's no fun. I must have a cool intro!

So, here's a first draft of my new intro for shoutcasts. It's not done, im playing with some ideas atm and want to see what works, so the shots could be tighter and more dramatic, but this is the general idea of what Im doing with it.

Watch the thing in 720p and comments appreciated. Cheesy

awesome!

should say its actual eirr footage before the video begins since noboddy knows a mod can be actually that intense.

didn't like the boof! boof. boof boof..... sound at the end though.

Thanks Leo!

Yeah, those are artillery shells at the end. I wanted a low rumbling of a battery firing in the distance. I could go back and make it better. That's an old sound file.

I found the music just a little too cheerful. I like how you tried to create energy with the music, but it just doesn't say wow to me.
The cinematics were excellent.

If I just hear the music I feel like I found the Master sword in Legend of Zelda then got attacked by enemies in Final Fanatsy then killed the boss in Metroid

Then I have achieved the desired effect!

It's the 90's Johnny Quest theme song. XD

Nuthing says "Action" like a revamped cartoon from the 60's now. Tank, you should feel right at home! Wink

Pretty awesome! Although I have a question about your recording, how exactly do you get rid of the grey box at the bottom right of the video? I'm currently working on a project for EiRR and in my videos I can't seem to get rid of it, unlike the the Playback word at the top which is easily removable with message_hide in the prompt. I would assume you would just cut off the bottom of the video, but I would still like confirmation Tongue

comments appreciated. Cheesy

At 10 seconds you can really see the FPS lagg, remove or replace this part. Smiley

Disabling the squad/sector lock thing would also be an improvement.

there is a problem with this though.

This video is going to be used as an intro for shoutcasts. but after seeing this video everybody is already tired from the overflow of action.

good video for trailer but bad to be used for intro.

The way I see it, the intro needs to be representative of the shoutcast series and the game in general.

Set it up in such a way that repeat watchers know what they are looking at and are going to get a show. I fully expect people to skip the intro if they get bored. I know I do that with other shoutcasts.

Ideally, I want the thing to function in a story arc and heroic trumpets and high action is better than solemn war song bullshit and slow pans that drag or makes you depressed before you watch the shoutcast. It's all alot to do in 1 minute and not everyone will like the same music, so this one probably isnt going to get changed. Tongue

Yeah, i noticed that too. Ill find a better shot. Those squad rings are a problem tho. To do some of the camera work, some of the squads need to be selected.

Could you get any more cliche'd.

I've always got a soft spot for Battlefield 1942 music though.

Well then Nug, maybe you should just do the shoutcasts yourself.
And band of brothers goes with absolutely everything, you gotta be kidding suggesting it.

The original music is the best of the 5. It's fun. It sounds like the intro to an old school sports talk show on ESPN or something.

It really makes me feel old as shit that I knew it was the Johnny Quest music.
