Alright, I am going to compare this to Precision Strike from Blitz as they are similer in the way they are called on, but with different targets.

The X-7 is called on with no smoke warning to the opponent, and the second the plane gets on the screen the missile has already hit the target.

The precision is called on with no smoke warning to the opponent, and when the plane gets on the screen is has to go over the target when it drops it bomb.

The difference is the precision, if your on your toes you can dodge it because you can hear the plane and can see it comming closer.

The X-7 you cannot dodge unless you just happen to be away from the target area before the plane comes, Which is luck, not you knowing that the offmap is coming.

I propose the X-7 is fired when it goes over the target just like the precision bomb, so its dodgable.(In basic terms that means lowering its range)

The max range for the X-7 is 500, I am proposing a decrease to 30. That may seem a HUGE decrease, but for something can take almost half of a shermans health away in 1 shot (125-150 dmg X 2[target tables modifer vs all vehicles] = 250-300 dmg) while costing no resources to you at all other than a 2 unlock points it will still maintain being a good offmap. Just that now it will be dodgable.

I didn't think it was launched from a plane, but from land and guided to target.

I'm aware this is stepping on the boundaries of realism, but it makes no sense to have a plane fly overhead from an ability that doesn't use a plane.

I'm probably wrong though and it does use a plane...

I don't think there is a plane actually. It is just a sound like the V1 so you can hear it coming and start moving your shit

precision strike is also not dropped by the plane but it is on a timer.

anyway, I agree that the ability needs some further balancing:
- more recognizable
- easier to dodge

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Sounds like a strafing run.

Sounds like a strafing run.

Strafing run although does come in fast, it has smoke, and it surpresses/pins open infantry while doing very little damage to them.

Please leave if your judgment is clouded by your bias.

Strafing run has smoke, that is rarely dropped before the plane starts shooting. It does good damage to infantry in the open and suppresses/pins, making it perfect to stop an enemy push and leaving them vulnerable for your AB to mop them up with grenades.

You can dodge it, it plays a sound, start moving, I think you will dodge it. Pro tip, hide behind house.

that means that people need to pay attention about sounds, what is hard, when everyone is used to move only when they see red smoke,or when they have half a minute when they hear v1 Roll Eyes

Then they must learn to do so, I hear onmap artillery shooting in the background quite well while im just looking at my own units, and then I start moving.
This X7 is just a new sound you'll have to get used to and learn, I also dont think its played on the background so u can hear it quite clearly, just gotta know what it represents.

It's very simple.

You hear an out of the blue very audible recon run sound play.
You wait 5 seconds
A stuka shell spawns and hits the position of where your tank was when the shell spawned.

So basically, if you are moving when the shell spawns you'll be fine.

I'd say the only thing that needs to be done is a more distinct sound needs to be added. Other than that it seems like a very reasonable offmap.

im pretty sure the air to air missile was of course launched from a plane or SAM sight, and AT missile was ground launched too. i haven't seen these in effect, but it looked like an interesting off map.
