boo to the man that puts out more than 2 88s on the field.
Remember in one match we took out like 4 88 trucks b4 building and we still had to deal with 2  88s. Destroyed 1 and took over the other one.

But then again there was one time there was an 88 in a large open field on the left flank. Axis surrounded it and we couldnt take it at all, they owned that part of the map. So we just surrounded it, and won by taking territories. One axis guy called it a cheap win. Hiding behind 88s sounds more cheap to me.

I love my jumbo but not sure why the armor tables have to be so complicated. Only time my jumbo wrecks havoc is when the axis opponent was ready for armor. Maraders, shreks, paks, 88s, panthers, tigers, and a few more can handle a jumbo pretty well. U think i like having to bring a bunch of ATG and tank destroyers just in case heavy armor shows up?

it's their fault,if they bunk and loose by territory  Wink

allies usually have bunch of atg around, having 2 57's is nothing strange, and more than enough to scare off heavy armor.

I like the idea of changing the armor back to allied armor but if you give the jumbo pershing armor then the Panther will have shit penetration against 2 allied tanks so a change but just not to pershing armor...

Or just MAKE A NEW ARMOUR TYPE for it. Not hard, and can be modified to balance a needed.

It'd be quite a lot of work to make a new armour type out of thin air.

I thought the problem was it's low pop. It's only 13 pop compared to a PzIV's 12.

Copy and rename one, modify from there. Now it is seperate from others and can be modified and balanced.

AmPm, if you don't know how rgds work please don't make posts about what we "should" do.

You sound like modding coh is lazy business while really it isn't and we are doing the best we can.

To make a new armour type you need to create an entry for it for every single weapon in the game - including stuff like lugers vs tanks because otherwise the game will crash if the weapon ever makes any sort of contact with the armour type.

We have something around 100 unique weapons to change? It's hard and grueling work mate.

Myst speaks the truth, making new armour types is hard work.

Giving a unit a currently used armour type and giving it pen modifiers is easy.

AmPm wasn't talking making a brand new armour class though, he was talking about copying and editing another armour class to make it fit a bit better. Don't see why it would be that hard to do.
Or is it not possible to do that?

You're still in effect creating a new armour type. So what Dark said still applies.

You wouldn't need to change the stats for most of the weapons though. Just be adjustments to the Axis AT weapons to make it so they can actually damage the armour.

Or just swap it to Churchill/Pershing armour and be done with it x3

But he was, and frankly like said its just gets too hard. You cant just "Copy" panther and make a "Panther #2" and expect it to work.

Game engine just doesn't work like that. You have do to every single thing myst said inorder to do what he said, even if you just copy and edit it.

And a lil more back ontopic.

For christ sakes just give it damn churchill with 0.65 recieved penetration(It is what is required to get similer results to panther armour, and is actualy slightly worse than panther armour depending on weapon) and bedone with it.

Examples of pen changes on two weapons when armour is changed to churchill with 0.65 recived pen
Pak38 Before- 0.22
Panther Before- 0.681
Pak38 After- 0.312
Panther After- 0.6955

There also solves your "well mah pak has trouble penetrating" no shit sherlok its a heavy tank problem.

that would also set the 57mm penetration vs jumbo to:

0.08892

(and rear penetration to 0.2 or something)
