World of Tanks developer Wargaming.net has announced a follow-up to its wildly popular artillery MMO, called World of Warplanes. It's about planes.

Announced over the course of E3 2011, World of Warplanes will allow players access to planes spanning from the 1930s to the 1950s.

As was the case with World of Tanks, World of Warplanes will be a free to play MMO where players are divided into opposing teams and fight using authentic WW2 vehicles.

1930 plane vs 1950 ?  wargaming gonna fail so hard,  their engine cannot handle hundreds of kilometers like Gaijins WoP .

Plane game in a room 20vs20 ppl ? LOL, this gonna sux.

Have you played WoT?  Have you seen how small the maps are ? a plane flying 400km/h would fly through whole WoT map in 1 sec.

Nothing i know off, i am just saying that 20v20 dogfights are gonna be massive sence 5v5 dogfights are hectic already.

Ya know what..... I hope They will eventually combine the 2 games... Talke about a full on war simulator... Start with tanks... then planes.... Then Infantry then throw them all together lol.

Actually they already have in terms of the XP/Credit/Gold system.

You will now take from a pool from EITHER game and can use it in the other.

So if you have 15000 gold and 100k in free XP in World of Tanks, when World of Warplanes comes out, you can use it to tech straight up to better planes and not start from the bottom!  BIG plus for me, Easy Eight farming time, heh.

Just the system, no tanks actually fighting on the field, as the air maps will be much larger than the tank maps.  But they used a shared XP/Currency system ^^
