Recently I've been having troubles playing EiR games, I constantly lag and there seems to be no way around it. I do know Wireless is the worst way to have my desktop computer connected to the internet by, but currently it's the only option available. I shutdown every programs besides Vent and CoH and still seem to fail at a horrific maginitude even if my wireless is at a "perfect" wireless connection. Even with Vent shutdown I still seem to lag horribly, as via the game I just tried playing with CoHCommando, and another game I tried playing a couple days ago against Tivoly. I can definetly say that it's not the graphics, and it's either something with my internet provider or my actual computer itself.

I was wondering if anyone had any idea on how to solve this lag problem.

Run a 50ft ethernet cable Zontar, wireless is not preferred for gaming for that exact reason? XD

Tough luck my friend, my dad has to eventually bite the bullet and we're running a 50ft cable to his machine due to the sporadic access he has on wireless even though he's right next to my room.

If your machine handled COH just fine on high graphics before and the only thing that has changed since then is the connection type and its lagging... the problem is the connection and there isn't anything else you can do about it.

That's like saying 'Guys my hard drive is full... I can't clear things out but I run it on lower power and only have 1 application running and not 3 in the background, is there anything else I can do?'.  The most obvious and really only answer for your problem is the only solution, hate to tell you that Zontar.
