Actually after playing some RON yesterday that's not at all what the game is about. Trying to crush your opponent with a huge army can be penalizing because your opponent will have focused those resources on technology and income, meaning that even if you are numerical superior he can make a comeback. So no, there is a lot more in depth strategy than just zerg rushing.

You can disable terra cotta army so that no player can build it. Also it's not that hard to counter.

dude,yes you need to have a big army, but you have so much shit to micro, cities, workers, resources, several armies, several navies, production, territorry control, protecting your caravans.. etc

All RON needed was a better battle system that gives bonuses for rear attacks and stuff like that
