Axis Recon Sound Effect
«

This may be a silly request, but can this thing get turned down? It's loud as heck, the loudest sound effect in the game.
You know how many times I'll be playing EIRR when my lady is asleep and everything will be dandy, then someone calls in an axis recon and I have to slam on the volume down button as to not wake her. She can't hear my muttered "fucks" and "god damn its" but thoses stukas flying by have woken her up more than once lol.

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

Or... Tone the volume of the Stuka down?
Headset or not, if I want to play the game with increased volume (Which heartily adds to immersion) then the first Stuka that flies over will destroy my ears.
Granted the Stuka is a loud plane but EiRR, as it has often been said, is not based upon full realism. It wont kill you to turn the volume down a notch.
If simple logic doesn't work for you, then look at it this way. Telling players of the mod to go spend cash to correct your own created problem in the mod is nothing short of fucking stupid and counter-productive.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Yes, PLEASE do. Especially with earbuds @ high volume, it's literally painful to the point where i'll hit the minimap and scroll to a corner until it's gone.

It is pretty loud. It really should be changed. That sound effect makes sense for precision strike. It serves as a warning. But for just a recon? Unnecessary. Plus it would make the precision strike sound effect more distinguishable and would help balance it since then, if you heard that sound, you would know what was coming and could try to take preventative measures to save your units.

I want to ensure we have a 100% decision on the process before we do the wipe.
If not, then I wipe, then someone gets something they shouldn't, then it gets abused, then the shit hits the fan and then I ban shab.

I agree, the volume could be toned down a little.
Asking community members to wear earphones when something is considered too loud is not a well thought out response.
Now the real question - By percentage, how much should we turn it down. My first thought is 25%

I think it should be the same sound as the allied recon run. If it was the SAME as precision strike the difference in volume wouldn't be distinguishable enough since it always starts off quiet then gets louder as it reaches where you currently looking on the map.

You may have a valid point, but it would still be too loud imo. The OP was in regards to the excessive volume of the ability.
