We have had a bunch of topics on various games, but i thought i would start a thread on little gems you have found (we all know about minecraft Wink

Atom Zombie Smasher

To put it simply you gotta rescue the civilians from the city before the zombies overrun it. You unlock new units every turn, and on top of it being nice and challenging its just a fun as hell game.

Solar 2

You start off as a asteroid, become a planet and can keep growing till your a black hole. Games simple and fun, but i found i sunk 2 hours into it before becoming bored Cheesy

and as i hope this makes it, its called Thrive, its still being made, but its supposed to be everything spore wasn't

I will tell you, these games I get for the soul reason of playing at work or while traveling. Also my playtime might be skewed because sometimes I have to stop and help customers.

Atom Zombie Smasher: Worth $7-10 , Killed about 4-6+ hours at work
So good! I just like it because there's so many options that you can really customize your experience. It has a lot of replay value.

Braid: Worth $5-7, Killed about 3-6 hours, not really any replay value.
The kind of game that I think everyone should play through! Great story, cool design and difficult puzzles that won't drink you TOO crazy as long as you go to a different level and come back to them.

Machinarium: Worth $5, but I'd pay $10 I loved the story so much! Killed about 6-8 hours, my coworker and I were totally stumped sometimes! No replay value really unless you play with someone so they can see the story.
Oh my god, this game is GREAT! It's THE PERFECT casual puzzle game! First off the art work is off the wall good. It's a point and click puzzle game, it's prefect because it's a game where you can walk away from it at any moment and be fine (so its great to play while at work!). Over all this game is just plain cute, the animations and way the characters interact is awesome. Also watch out for the bird on the wire, it's VERY particular, and you might not be able to do it if you are running a certain mouse or crappy graphics.

Anomaly: Warzone Earth: Worth $7-10, Killed about 8-10 hours on this, and still had replay value.
This is a reverse tower defense game, in other words a tower attack game. You command units (up to 6) as they travel down paths (which you can choose where they turn) and attack towers. The story and plot is totally unnecessary so it doesn't matter that it's bad. But game play is a lot of fun. I got it for like $3 on steam, and it's worth every penny and I'd gladly pay $7 for the game. Good graphics, fun concept, and a bit of replay value (the kind of game you want to play through a second time on a harder difficulty) it's a good game.

Swords and Soldiers: Worth about $5-8, Killed about 6-8 hours with a bit of replay value.
It's a 2D side scroller strategy game. There are 3 factions, vikings, chinese, aztecs, each with different spells, and units. It's a really fun game and all the campaigns are cute. It's absolutely not involved, and once again a great work game to play.

A few other good indie games:

Terraria

You may have heard of this earlier and dismissed it as a Minecraft knockoff, however this could not be more untrue. Terraria delivers in the builder-sandbox genre that which Minecraft has not: an entertaining RPG experience. In Terraria there is a massive variety of weapons and equipment to choose from (as opposed to wood sword, stone sword, iron sword, diamond sword...), many enemies to fight, dungeons to explore and a decent variety of bosses and events. For $10, it's a steal for the amount of playtime you can squeeze out of it. On top of that, the graphics are simple enough to run on pretty much any computer or laptop.

Mount & Blade: Warband

I suppose this isn't really an indie game anymore since Taleworlds has expanded a lot in recent times, but it is still worth attention on this list. This has to be one of the greatest Action/RPG games I've played in a while. A unique combat system, an in-depth RPG element and the ability to command armies make this game great. You start off as a lowly mercenary, and from there you must conquer the world! There are 6 kingdoms vying for control of the land, and you can lend your services to one of them, or even stake your own claim as king. With plenty of political intrigue happening off the battlefield and a great troop management system, you can't really go wrong with this game. They even have a demo available, so you really should try and give it a shot! An incredibly rewarding experience in total.
