Don't the Liir also have Ship hitpoints on the low end of the scale and fewer weapon mounts in some cases?(or smaller weapon mounts in some cases)
Yes, i just checked, they do. in some cases Ship section hitpoints are Half the racial average. Eww
Either way, Victory settles my disputes.

I know it's a ways off but I'm interested to see what they do with New races in Expansions and ground Combat. I know SotS 2 has espionage and they want to add ground combat later. The Darloks and Bulrathi were always 2 of my favorite races in Master of Orion. It's just hard to get Espionage to a point where it can actually make a noticeable difference. I think a Ground combat race in SotS2 would be nice as long as they remember to transfer that trait to ship boarding actions.
The Fleet system they have adopted where Fleets can only go so far from a base is a little disconcerting to me as a Human player. The advantage of exploring every system by turn 30 and spreading like the plague was quite an edge.

Also they have to be the worst possible race to play in maps like cluster. 20-40 turns just for a single fleet to reach another area? Just deep intercept every single fleet and box them in in their corner while you spread around the galaxy |

Lets just say it's pretty hard to pull any form of flanking on hivers given they have the sense for sensors! Seriously, the teleporting stuff makes up for every bit of non ftl slowness |

Is the game similar to Master of Orion 3?
I am a huge fan of MOO from the first to the last(even tough it was a speeded trough mess of a game) and i really want to have a new experiance for it may have been good looking when i was a kid but the grafics have gotten quite old on me.
i need an replacement

Yes and no. The general theme is the same, Space 4x game, however the execution of SotS 1 is much cleaner then MoO3.
MoO3 plays like a spreadsheet, SotS actually plays like a game.
The huge difference is that each Race has a different Faster then Light(FTL) drive technology so they get from system to system at different speeds. The other notable difference is that the tech tree is different each game. Races have percentage chances to have access to certain techs. So because you got Phasors one game doesn't mean you will in another. Races have higher chances of certain tech types.

Yeah 28th Oct. Release.
I'll play it alot because I love the game type but only ever buy a title if you want to. The best straight up analogy is a Master of Orion(1 and 2) and Homeworld Hybrid
Also, give it a couple weeks and they will release a Demo you can try.
