Just wonder if anyone's ever had this happen.

My monitor just goes black. When I start up the computer, I can see the post, then it goes black, when it switches to the next screen it comes on then turns off, when it goes to the next screen it turns on then goes black.

Basically, when in windows if I turn it off and on it will display fine and then turn black. I can keep doing this indefinitely and the same thing happens. Picture is fine, light is on all that but no image. I'm hoping its not burnt out, can't afford to fix it.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

you sure that u have not just a glossy display mirroring?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I think your electrolytic capacitors of monitor powersupply are dead/dieing. Its getting colder now and they have more hard time to reach enough capacity. You could try to heat the room up or the monitor or at the capacitor os the power supply area if they have "coneheads" and replace them by new ones.

not necessary if u have some soldering iron skills and a bit electronic knowledge

i replaced a bunch of electrolytic capacitors 2 weeks ago and the monitor is works great again Cheesy
even when i want a new 27inch screen anyways (will use this one as secondary display)

Seems to me like there is a wire loose to your back light in the monitor see if moving it/jostling slightly causes the screen to flicker
