M18: Defensive unit, good with support weapons.
M10: Offensive unit, good with infantry.

Disagree, the M18 makes a fine offensive unit in the correct hands.

Also, ever seen Ambush used offensively? Make sure you don't have the .50cal on the M18, sight your target at max range then hit stop then cloak very quickly. As long as your not dead on to the target you'll engage cloak before the tank automatically fires a round. Makes for a good entrance to combat. Just be sure to turn off cloak so you can get your arse moving.

Also Poppi, yes, they both can.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

The main thing that makes it better than the M10 is that you can actually get off a few shots and then repair it, something that is impossible to do with the M10.

the m-10 v m-18 debate also depends on your unit comp. If i had a lot of AI, i'd go M-10's, if i had alot AT already like with zooks or RR's, I'd go with M-18's, especially to help spot for those assetts.

The 50 cal is underrated, it's the same as on the M2, M8 and Sherman and its only 35 mu. Hawks are 20 and u get 2 and u can place 'em while cloaked.

If it is true I find it hard to believe, but the .50 on the m18 seems weaker or has worst suppression than that of the sherman. I don't ever seem to suppress units with the m18 and I feel this was discussed before too, that the m18 .50 used different stats and that's why it's cheaper. it feels like the difference between the stug mg42 and the p4 mg42.

Any tanker worth his mettle knows the true reason why the M18 is cheaper than the M10.

It's pathing eats donkey shit for breakfast.

too true, i dont understand why it's pathing is so much horrible than the m10s. there's been times ive told an m18 to go somewhere, then i went to go micro other stuff, and thought, where the hell is my m18, only to realize it's taken the most retarded path or decided to circle around a hedge before making its way over.

so true, i snuck up on a unskirted P4, did a cloak shot, moved out of range, enemy didnt even know what hit him, moved the p4 back a little, i snuck up and did it again, then did it one more time, the damned thing got a damaged engine, so i just rolled up and took the last shot to kill it. absolute ideal conditions, but to do that much damage to a P4 without taking a shot is something an m10 could never do on its own.

Two things that make the M18 so inferior in pathing :

Its 2 degrees lower rotation speed. (which, coupled with a higher base speed and lower base accel make sure of a significantly lower maneouvrability)
Its much larger model box.

They have the same pathing AI - it's just the sheer size and clunkiness of the M18 that make it shit.

believe it or not, the diff is that on the m2 the hmg is closer to ur target than on the m18 or the sherman. think of it like this

+ hmg
M2
<+==>
Sherman
<=+=>
M18
<==+>

same gun, but unless ur firing from the side or the back, it wont be as good as the m2 or even the sherman.

i think the Jumbo is the worst path finding experience i ever had. Or it just completely stops when u click it to go somewhere, even if its in the current direction. Once you click to move to a spot. try not to click somewhere else. lol

ugh, agreed with Jumbo. Firefly pathing can be daunting as well. Puma pathing is fun.

Stug pathing is puke. Hetzer pathing makes me want to subject a baby seal to one of Mal's rage sessions--not a pretty picture.

The m18 also has very weird reactions to the halt button, like charging across a street around a building and through a hedge.

I've had this happen when I hit halt while not going very fast. And the option to cloak becomes available and I use it but the tank continues to charge along and cannot be corrected until you decloak it again.

i had the worst targeting with the m18. Like no dont choose the bike stupid choose the tank that i clicked on.

not sure if the m10 or the m18 but when its moving and i select a target in its direction it will stop, reverse a foot, and then continue again. Hmmm

interesting fact. the m-18 is an excellent duo for a sniper as it has good accuracy vs bike armor. i've had one take out 3 in a row going after a sniper. (.66 vs .33 for m10)

M-18 also has no windup, so you're going to get off your shots a tick quicker.

Id always pick penetration over speed,

especially if the penetration is 1.0 up close (KT bah-bye :3)

The warmap is like Dukenukem Forever.

No one thinks it will ever be released, then several years after everyone has given up the little hope they have it gets released from out of nowhere. And then it turns out it sucks.

+1 You're gonna be good EIR player or you're already are.

Not taking penetration for AT duty is like gimping yourself on purpose, especialy if it 6.8 speed vs 7.2
