You're clearly underestimating your effort. Despite your Hummel crew being old farts from Volksgrenadier companies they are still alive. Remember it is a AXIS Arty piece and they are most commonly known to never live longer than few games. Even Hummels have to take risks and those LVs, Light tanks and tank destroyers not to mention those Airborne and offmaps- Hummels are at constant risk too.
It has survived to gain almost 1.5k XP ;P it is a great accomplishment for a Axis arty piece.
awws; i guess you are right, ive won a game or two by just defending my hummel because it was a target by certain people and i just exploited that truth. through up roadblocks either side of my spawn and created a narrow passage for any enemy incoming AT and left a 50mm and a tankbuster squad there the whole game.
mind you ,at that time i told my team mates i was doing that, and just spammed infantry to compensate for that, but the 50mm being on wheels was easy to transport to a much needed position
